I didn't mind rape in fiction when I was younger. It was the moment when the male character and the female character or even in yaoi the characters would finally get intimate. It was the way for the guy who had an interest for the guy/girl to show his feelings and his sexual desires.

I mean I know it's fiction and I'm almost 100% sure that authors who draw the typical rape to love trope do not support rape in real life nor will they rape someone. Tbh I feel the same as you. As long as the artist/author/translator clearly state that they're against rape in reality, and also put trigger warnings for those who aren't comfortable reading such thing, then I don't understand why people still hate on them.

The problem of rape in fiction isn’t rape itself, it’s the romantization and naturalization it often comes with. It’s okay to have rape as long as the character who was raped suffer from all the trauma it causes.
