Presentation AGAIN
sry that this is not a yaoi yuri topic or anything but y'all r my comfort ppl.
Anyway I have to hold a presentation tmrw and I don't know if I'm fucked or completely fucked. I already asked the teacher if I can hold it during a break but they said no bc of equality or smth like that. So like what I need is motivation again (I'm saying again bc I have already made a post like this but it was for a different presentation that I couldn't do so this one is for making up the grade but alone this time). I was always bad with presentations and I'm scared how I'll look. I'm already shaking in my boots even though I'm prepared.
Maybe if you can... You could give me a tip so I can present better.
This might be a bit rude but from my experiences nobody cares that you're presenting. If you're school's anything like mine, people here love presentations bc it means that while someone's speaking you can do whatever you want. Whenever I'm presenting I usually only see like 3-4 people being interested (or pretending to be) in my presentation every...... reply
something that def helps me is practicing with a friend or a wall or a plushie or whatever, do it as if it was the real deal, and if you can do it several times
also holding stuff in your hand can help, like you could use a pointer, a pen, etc. (if your teacher lets you) and try integrating into your movements. talking abt movements, try moving (w...... 1 reply
Ik people struggle with it but honestly the only thing that helps me during presentations is believing you're THAT BITCH, like, confidence is DEADLY. It can make or break your presentation, don't think of your audience as individual people who live breath die, just assume they're cardboard or a huge lump of meat 1 reply
I hate presentations, too. But I developped some tricks to get through it.
1. Know your text like a pro. It's going to be one less thing to worry about when you're presenting. And if you forget something, don't be scared to improvise until you get to your next topic, as long as it's relevent to the subject.
2. Look at the people in the back of the ...... 1 reply
I've never done presentations before so idk how much I can help you, but I have given speeches before and this has really REALLY helped me to overcome my stage fright/public speaking phobia.
Go there with a confident look. If your brain thinks you're confident, then your body language will say it too. Trust me this does wonders. If you have a speec...... reply
I was so anxious for my first presentation but what helped me the most is that I presented before the actual presentation to my friends. I sat up everything in an empty classroom, and started to present to my friends, not only once or twice but nearly 6 times. Every time I got used to the eyes being on me and the speech got better, I asked them abo...... reply
What I have noticed screws people over the most when presenting is thinking that they have to rememer EVERYTHING. Your audience will not know if there is something you forgot to mention, and if it's something they need to know, they will ask you (and answering is easier at that point). So don't stress yourself over needing to remember every small t...... reply
Make sure you present once to yourself outloud (recorded) alone sometime before the presentation, just so that you have a better flow of words so you don'tstumble while you speak. Also, I personally like to drink a shit ton of water beforehand, which both calms my nerves and keeps my mouth from getting dry. reply
