Is it really misogynistic
another yearly AO3 discourse where people complained how the top ships in AO3 are mostly compromised of m/m ships by.... shaming the writers who are mostly women themselves? i swear to god these type of complaints in itself is just internalized misogyny. reminds me of that one post "stanning men is so mysogynistic but what else do we expect from stupid fucking women". do they not realize some women read m/m because they can't bring themselves to watch or read about women being "fetishized" or "sexualized" for various reasons could be because of trauma or strict religious households that upholds "purity" and "innocence" of women.
Oh god, i saw the discourse, yea....... EVERY year it comes back and it's so annoying ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

The topic comes back every o...... reply

i feel like ao3 has a diverse author range writing m/m, i see tons of men/nb writers;;; and i feel like this discussion really has more value outside of romantic content (fluff, found family, angst with little to no romance) because if there's still way more men than women centered there, it's less about attraction (or being too uncomfortable to in...... 1 reply
