How could Isekais be improved?
Obviously Isekais are known as kind of a dumpster fire genre but what can be improved to make the genre actually interesting, what tropes should be thrown out and what can be added?
Actual character development. Authors think it’s just gaining confidence and becoming more skilled. That’s development. Your character needs to reflect on who they were and realize where they actually went wrong to change. Rebirth with your old memories still makes you the same shitty person as before.
