Should straight men be allowed to play roles of queer characters?
As always when a new bl series begins trending the topic whether it's fair or not for straight men to get the roles of gay characters gets brought up. Given now that heated rivalry has been out people have been attacking the actors with claims of "Queer baiting" and that an openly gay man should've gotten the role rather than the current actors.
I mean, the director decides who is suitable for a role, or the actor decides whether to accept it. And yes, there are a lot of straight people who play queer roles, but they wanted to play the role and they wanted to represent something and I think they do it well sometimes. reply
