Any atheist around here?
I have a couple of questions for atheists. Why did you leave your religion? What made you realize that God or someone above you was not real? What is your overall opinion on religion and religious people? How did you tell your parents?
I wanted to ask these questions as another atheist because where I live, most people are either Muslim or Christian and I have never met anyone who doesn’t believe in those religions and has the same beliefs as me. I started deconstructing religion only a few months ago and left my religion, so I want to hear others’ experiences.
When i read this quote from the Bible I was like "fuck im out of here, bye" : 1 Timothy 2:11-15
11 A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man she must be quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who ...... 1 reply
I'm not fully atheist but I might as well be. I'm agnostic, I believe a higher being could exist but that wouldn't change my views on the subject of religion.
I grew up in a very religious society where the love of god prevailed over everything else. While also being mentally unstable, I felt comfortable believing that someone was looking out for...... 4 reply
I used to be a Muslim but one day it just stopped making sense. The more you dig into the Quran and the Hadiths, the less sense it makes. My mum and some of my friends know but I still wear the hijab and larp in public so my mum doesn’t get ridiculed by the community (I love her too much). However, I plan on taking it off when I move away this ye...... 3 reply

2) God is just a stupid concept, literally how do people believe in fairy tales like Noah's ark, sure dude all animals on earth where on a single boat its all just stories to cope with our...... 2 reply
Hi there! I am a fellow atheist and I totally understand where you are coming from. When I first started questioning my faith (was raised christian) I was 11 or 12. I had met my first Muslim friend and heard my dad say something along the lines of "She's going to hell" meanwhile I'm like "She's fucking 11 years old". After that I read the whole bib...... 2 reply
I’m someone who grew up Muslim. When I was younger I ended up being one of those unfortunate kids who end up getting groomed by religious figures. The Imam or Moleem-Sahaab, ended up sexually abusing me from ages 3-12 ( until I got into foster care ). So when I used to go to his house to learn about the Quran/Kitab, it ended up with me just doing...... 2 reply
I was a Buddhist, a devoted Buddhist since I was a child, thanks to my parents' influence. I was introduced to tales of Buddhism and its core concepts, including the idea that life is suffering, the afterlife, hell, reincarnation, karma, and others.
In Buddhism, it is believed that you can be reincarnated as anything in your next life depending on...... 5 reply
I am born in a Muslim country to a strictly religious family, I too was . I will go to pray in a mosques and cry when I miss a pray, I will encourage my family and friends to pray, I would argue with anyone that says something bad about Islam, I even memorized half of the Quran. hi, i was born and raised in a conservative christian society, and i was a very devout christian and i remember wanting ti become a missionary when i was younger. i started questioning myself when i was 18.

i'm raised a hindu, sort of still am, but not quite. i won't say i'm a PROPER atheist, but i'm not religious either. and alot of hindus are pretty chill, atleast the ones i've met. that doesn't mean there aren't any staunch hindus as well. hinduism is a non-abrahamic religion, that means we're sort of doing whatever. there are a lot of gods, but th...... 1 reply
