I was reminiscing on old manhwas that I read, particularly early Wind breaker (the webtoon) and Lookism, too. I had an epiphany like "damn, I really did not have standards back then" tbf the plot drew me in and i was somehow able to overlook the...peculiar artstyles. but now its kind of hard for me to ignore art in favour of the plot. im probably missing out on some banger stories.

Manga/hwa/huas are a visual medium after all, so if I do not fuck with the artstyle of any story I pick up, then I am definitely not going to finish it. It might sound mean or whatever, but that's just my preference lol. The only exceptions are GLs, because I am a loser lesbian and I am starved of sapphic content, so even if I think a GL has bad/u...... reply

I know art is hard but yeah, I can't read them like more of so when the characters look like they're kids when they're supposedly an adult. I rlly don't like those art style where their characters are just very twinks also bara, I'm scared of the amount of muscles and too much muscles isn't that good IMO. reply

No, it usually don't. I'm an artist so that's like spitting on my fellow man's face just because their art is not good enough for me. I hate it tho when ik the artist has so much potential but then they decided to draw characters like this. 1 reply

It does. I don't care but the art style matters. I can't punish myself reading stuff that hurt my eyes, but it's so sad that a lot of beautiful art style are wasted because of the rape fetish culture. I had to dropped a lot of bl because of that. 1 reply

No but it does bother me if a manhwa's artist will change into a totally different style because it throws me off and doesn't feel like the same story. Or if an artist is changed. Like for example I really liked The Young Lady is a Royal Chef but the artists changed several times. None of them had similar art styles. i just pulled these from rando...... reply

A "bad" artstyle won't stop me from enjoying a story. Idgaf if the artist can't shade properly or draws people weirdly or wtv. What I have a problem with is that basic artstyle that you see on the stereotypical transmigration manhwas or a bunch of slice of life mangas. Not as much as it should; the art has to be extremely disgusting for me not to read it. I enjoy the shien-like mass-produced yaoi slop with odd art. It's my distraction until the good stuff updates. Not to mention, sometimes you want a fun read where you can shut your brain off. reply
