i just realise im lowkey a fujoshi (unironically)
like i lowkey have been reading bl for the past 3 years almost everday
yknow at first ive always been like a manga type of person, yknow into anime and shit. so the fact that i read bl like a hobby itself never occurred to me. i just reading manga and shit.
i mean reading bl isnt really the problem, its just the fact that I dont read non-bl manga anymore that puzzles me. Its not like i cant stomach it anymore, like from time to time i do actually pick up a non-bl manga/manhwa and genuinely enjoy it. its just that reading bl has become so natural for me its worrying.
cause like im not really "benefiting" from reading this much bl. theyre all really the same plots and dynamics and character, nevermind the fact that some of them may have an interesting story line since if it involve porn, i cant really talk to others about it.
also i dont really like the idea of being a fujoshi, its not a proud term. its sad. what do you guys think?
Man who tf cares read whatever u want and label yourself however you want, fujoshies are literally the ones who makes ur gay porn I see no point as seeing the term as bad just because some mfs on tiktok said so, you can't hate fujoshi ppl then go around and read bl, they made the genre, sooo I don't see the point in hating the label, also ur intere...... 1 reply
I’ve been reading yaoi for five ish years and I still dont concider myself a fujoshi cause I don’t care for that term. You don’t have to label yourself as one if u don’t wanna, theres no law that says you have to call urself a fujoshi if u read yaoi 1 reply
girl so real. i want a bit of homoerotic tension at LEAST in a story for me to enjoy it. i can't watch a 100% straight story now, esp if it's romance. recently i was watching "off campus" an amazon prime series and it's so shit T_T. i am kind of excited for dean and allie but i dont get why they gave allie a bf if they want her to be paired w dean ...... 3 reply
I think it depends on each person’s definition of what a fujoshi means but personally I characterise anyone as one when they start watching BL anime and ship boyxboy in non-yaoi anime/manga or any media rlly I.e. I dont rlly consider the term as sth negative so long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else
But anw my opinion to OP: you don’t have to ...... 1 reply
I mean, if it isn't affecting you or anyone else, I don't see what's wrong about reading BL. Some people read mostly crime mysteries, some read only self help books, some read only superhero comics, it's fine, they're all formulaic, it's whatever. I guess people will judge it differently because whoa, yaoi has sex in it, oh noooo lol Sex is a part ...... reply
if you dont *want* to be a fujoshi then you dont have to be. its up to you to put the label on yourself, and if you dont want to be labelled as one, then you arent one.
i myself am like you and barely ever interact with non bl media, but i dont label myself as a fujo because i dont view myself as one; i just simply like reading bl reply
I've been reading bl/shipping m/m characters in anime, tv shows, and games since I was in middle school 20 years ago. I enjoy bl because, beyond the fantastic storytelling and opportunities to see multi-dimensional male characters who fight with their feelings, I have personal insecurities and reading or watching too much m/f makes me think about m...... reply
