Read Sunnyside Daycare Classmates. Season 1 especially is everything you thought you didn't need, but it's actually everything and more. ;)) ;) ;) ;) ;-)
It's not bad. Certainly has different treatment. The author does a decent job of balancing the character intro and development with the worldbuilding and don't take themselves too seriously, so they are able to have more fun with it. My one criticism is that it doesn't maintain a consistent central plot, it feels more episodic, the mystery behind the teacher machine (and hence the characters themselves) is central to the plot and yet there's no consistent treatment where it is developed. Season two will feature a redemption arc for sure, but I am sure author will make it more interesting than the usual tropey treatment, Jin is character to watch out for too, and the serpent dude, he is a fun character. I am certainly following it.
I read somewhere from the author that the story is/will be more character focused. So I guess what drives the story is the main characters finding their internal meanings, like being human or resolving internal conflicts. So I think thats why the mystery of the machine is less developed, but I also think we got a bit more information about the machine in season 2. Anyways I think season 1 was just too good ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
Could I ask, what characters you're shipping so far? [:

Yeah the story certainly feels more character focussed. Season two just started though right? Maybe I will marinate it. I am not shipping anyone. I appreciate that about the author, they made complex relationships with multiple characters and kept things almost open ended. Like of course they are going to develop Charin and Serpent dude's Frankenstein's monster twisted romance arc, so that'd be an interesting dynamic to see. And Jin's past obsession with Kimoto is intriguing, so I want to see if Jin remembers anything from his past, he still likes and cares for Kimoto even if it's not obsessive like it was. He is an open cannon and i won't even mind if he doesn't necessarily end up with anyone and somehow merges with Kimoto back into a demon, that the rest have to fight. With Jin's chosolike blood art fighting style lol and Kimoto's brain, they can give everyone a run for their money, it's not like the angel boy knows how to fight lmao. It's usually delusional to expect something like this out of BLs but I am just hoping this author doesn't disappoint me, they show promise..

Ah okay, I like the way you look at the story. For the seasons, season 2 just ended and starts from chapter 28, season 1 goes from chapter 1 to 27. And I like the way you look at the story because me honestly I'm banking heavily on ships and its pretty stupid. Ngl I thought the author was alluding to Jin x Tehir (the blonde with the halo), with how Jin fell for Charin that looked like Tehir and it seemed like he was projecting what he felt from Tehir onto Charin, like him saying he didn't want Charin to 'break'. And how Tehir wanted revenge on Jin, I thought the author was alluding to them being something in the end because they left an 'impact' on eachother amongst other things the story has going with them. I heavily shipped them from looking at them through this view but now I don't think that was what the author is planning. So I think the way you look at the story is pretty cool. It would be very shocking to see kimoto and Jin become one after we've come to know them separately. I think it'd be a big twist!
