Having uti as an high schooler killing me (mostly rant)
Tomorrow is my first day back to school and I am genuinely spiraling and overthinking this so bad. For context, i live in Indonesia. Unlike Western schools, every single Monday, schools here hold this mandatory morning assembly called "Upacara Senin". We have to stand in neat rows out in the school yard for basically two hours straight. no moving, no sitting down, just listening to long speeches...
and this is what im worried: I currently have a UTI, which means I need to pee every 30-60 minutes. On top of that, if i try to hold it in even for a little bit, my stomach instantly starts cramping up and my whole body gets so sore and achy. The physical pain makes holding it impossible, which is why i'm so terrified of being stuck in the middle of a ceremony.
im also shy, the thought of asking a teacher for permission to leave the lines gives me massive anxiety. to make matters so much worse, the student restrooms are located directly in front of the school yard. If i leave the assembly to go there, i will literally have to walk right in front of the entire school (Ther's alternative tho, the teacher's restroom is behind the rows, but I don't know if I'm allowed to use it).
I WANT TO KMS, I FEEL SO MISERABLE What should i even do? I talked to my mom about it, and she straight up suggested I wear an adult diaper, I don't want to wear diaper at my big age...
Should i just force myself to be brave and ask my teacher for permission to use the teacher restroom? Has anyone else survived a UTI at school? help
Ask your mum if you can stay home tomorrow? That's honestly what I would do, although I'm not sure if your schools allow for parents to dismiss you from classes, mine did. Maybe try getting a doctor's slip or whatever they're called for the UTI and submit it to the school.
If that's not an option though then unfortunately you should just force you...... reply
I mean, you should prioritize your health abobe all.
I know it feels like the end of the world rn but a bit of embarrassment is the cost for taking care of yourself in the long run.
In our school we do it every day for like 20 minutes (I'm from the Caribbean), just enough time for some announcements and the national anthem.

did you go to doctor to treat it? then you can ask your doctor to write up a letter explaining that you have UTI and needs to go to the toilet frequently. You just need to show that letter to your teacher if you are shy to open up about your health. It's okay, most people will be understanding and maybe you can be excused from the assembly.

babe i know it feels like it sucks right now to ask for anything, as you find this embarrassing, but honestly you should prioritise your health above all!! if anything i think that not asking for help and telling your teachers to support you may (god forbid) lead to a worse medical condition, all cause you didn’t ask for help!! its honestly not a...... reply
Do you have access to something like apple cider vinegar in your house? Its disgusting on its own but a tablespoon if that diluted with some water and take it like a shot always gets rid of my UTIs. Dont just wait for it to resolve itself babes you dont have to suffer look up home remedies for UTIs 1 reply
