Genuinely how do you guys motivate yourself to live
Guys, genuine question. How do you keep going in life? I want to hear from the depressed people or someone who got out of it. Everything fucking sucks lately, I'm a hot mess and I'm fully aware of it, but I don't take steps to improve my situation. I'm always hanging on by a thread and no matter how much I clean my room or shower myself and get shit done, THAT feeling is still there. It's like I permanently can't get rid of it. I started feeling this way during the pandemic lockdown (if that's even relevant) and hasn't been the same ever since. It's like no matter how much time I spend on romanticizing my life, buying cute shit and everything, nothing happens. I'm still the same old mess.
I genuinely don't know what to do with my life anymore. I do want to get into therapy, but that'd be just another financial burden on my parents since I don't have a job to fund my own needs yet. I'm genuinely trying everyday, I'm not like those textbook depressed people who refuses to clean — I ALWAYS clean and I still feel like shit. Nobody sees anything wrong with me because I'm apparently functioning “normally”
I have no other people to talk about this to, so I'm just venting here. I'm so jealous of people who has someone close they can talk to about their problems. But I don't, so I'm leaving it here.
I just wish I can get better, someday. If I don't kill myself, that is. I have hopes and dreams too, but it's starting to get all blurry when all I have in mind is how shitty I feel every single day, it feels endless. I genuinely don't know if there's even a point anymore.
I'm sure you must've heard "Life is worth living" multiple times before. But honestly, sometimes it feels like it doesn't. What keeps me going is having online and irl friends to interact and joke with. It feels good to feel relatable or able to relate to someone; it also feels good to me that I can make people laugh. Sometimes, whenever I'm feelin...... 1 reply
My hyperfixations. If ima be honest, till this day I cannot find it in me to actually look forward to living, but it''s still okay to keep living despite not knowing why. and even if you find a tiny bit of passion in anything (for me it's rainbow city, i love rainbow city), then that's enough to keep living

I was the same as you but it literally starts with you, I was really depressed, after graduating high school, I was losing friends, I lost motivation to do my assignments, I quit my job, and I fell into this state where I had nothing to do.
Start small, I started walking around (I live near farms and fields so it's always rlly pretty), made healt...... 1 reply
I agree with the other comment that “the feeling that you’re feeling will probably never change.”
You mentioned “THAT feeling is still there.”
One thing that I try to do is focus on one thing, try to complete it to my standards/ comfort and congratulate myself for it.
I realize how hard I am on myself and how I want to lose myself in wh...... reply
What keeps me going: unfinished manhwa, a series still stuck on indefinite hiatus, a full online shopping cart I haven’t checked out yet, and a chocolate covered raspberry Magnum bar waiting in the freezer. (If you haven’t had one, you’re missing out.) Also, I refuse to let bad people outlive me. sometimes I also think about what BL ukes have...... 1 reply
I'm in my 30s and have lived this. I've had depression since I was a teenager and went to a very dark place in my 20s. Everything felt empty and I felt useless. I would fantasize about having a terminal illness so I could just sit there and die. All that to say, I understand what it's like. And my life is so much better now. Your's will be too.

For me , i realize that seeing it in a positive light is hard to do , or just doesnt work when it feels like im lying to myself or just saying it to feel better . Soo instead i think about it negatively or making fun of myself with constructive criticism , and surprisingly it works better ! Everytime i feel like i should just disappear i thought t...... 1 reply
