MADK is not peak. What you have sitting in your library is ultimately a story about an extremely vulnerable highschool boy getting raped and manipulated by demons, is brought to hell against his will and then gradually starts thinking of himself as a demon too. Makoto himself repeatedly says that he's scared.
He gets hurt, frightened and mistreate......
