Buying Merchandise
So over on Twitter I saw a post saying that buying merch wasn't really supporting the artist/author and I got curious, what do you guys think? I'm not talking about fan art or merch, but official merch.
I buy a lot of merch, but sometimes I don't actually buy the manga/manhwa/manhua chapters/books for whatever reason.
Depends on whether the author/artist gets paid in royalties or was only paid a licensing fee. If royalties, buying merch would probably support them more. And if licensing fee, buying merch does nothing. You won't really know which is which unless they themselves state it. reply
