Ever since that webtoon ' song of the wasteland ' came out and jaxx got criticized for it, I've been seeing an uproar of racists on both twitter and this site. I personally have never met a racist in real life (due to my location), but thanks to y'all I've met a lot of them online. So I'm wondering, what goes through y'all's brains? Like what makes you hate a person so much for being more melanated? I'm genuinely confused.

So a couple weeks ago, I was talking to a guy "friend", who mind you is 8 years older than me (story for another time y'all), and the topic of heated rivalry came. Now, I ,of course, have watched it and love it but he apparently didn't know what it was about. So after i told him, he sounded repulsed. And I just straight up asked him "what's your opinion on lgbtqia+ community" and he ,in typical indian fashion, was pretty homophobic, which was kind of unexpected from him tbh. So I got a bit upset and asked "hey why do you think that?" And his answer was that it's against nature blah blah blah and that he can't fathom how they have sex (wildly inappropriate to bring up btw, i didn't even say anything about that) but then i of course started like "why do you care how they do their business?why is that even on your mind? and frankly, it's a beautiful thing between two people to connect their bodies together in a vulnerable state" and I cut the call. Then i realised, fuck, this is kind of the reasons I don't read a lot of yuri because I kind of get flustered seeing two girls do it! And I felt so utterly bad! Not for what I told him, i absolutely stand by it, but for being biased myself. Now that I know better, I've been actively trying to consume more yuri content and honestly it's definitely growing on me has this happened to you too?




TL;DR: I realised I don't read yuri for the same reason my Guy friend didn't like yaoi, which is sex. And felt like a hippocrite for criticising him. But now I take my own advise and try and change. Has this happened to you too?

I personally love kinda minty nd clean scents/perfumes. I don't like anything strong bc I have a sensitive nose so floral nd jst perfumes that jst punch you in the nose is a no go fo me like it immediately puts me in a sneezing fit. Most of the time people tell me I smell like a vry nice air-conditioned hospital room, like the rubbing alcohol smell or I jst generally smell clean and tbh I do be using my rubbing alcohol like a goddamn perfume like even tho I do carry my perfume in my bag, I sometimes jst spray on rubbing alcohol nd be on my way

Oh nd I use "CLEAN fresh showers" I think, Im not really loyal to one specific perfume but jst anything like the scents I've describe.

i feel like when we give platforms to authors who draw rape, incest, racism and other morally and legally wrong things, it influences people and encourages them to further learn such thing is normal... especially that a lot of people here are young.

What's your take on author Jaxx apologizing and cancelling their work after getting called out for romanticizing slavery in their story? How do you feel about the backlash? Was it deserved?
Or would you still say the readers just couldn't separate fiction from reality, like you do with romanticized rape? I dare you to say the same thing here.

I'm not interested in hearing from people who already agree that both slavery and rape are harmful subjects to romanticize. I'm asking those who defend one but condemn the other or defend both, because I'd like to understand whether there's a consistent principle behind that stance or if it's selective outrage.
