I'm not reading "The 100 Curses of Illeston Manor" yet cause it's still on hiatus and I wanna wait for more chapters.

I need some advice. Am I wrong for this one? So at the beginning of the year, I met these 2 girls and involved them in my friend group, which only had 3 people including me. (One being one of my friends since 2nd grade, and the other one being my twin sister.) My friend from 2nd grade, let's call her Sobbing. So this kinda all started when Sobbing went on a trip back to her home country for a month. These 2 new girls, Banana and Joy, suddenly got super close to Sobbing. At first, I didn't mind. But then we started getting into arguments. Our first one was because we left to go to the library, and they said they were coming but never came. Then after that, I had class with the 3 of them, and I had the WORST stomach ache, so I wasn't doing my best. The teacher called me out for it, so I told her I had food poisoning. When I went to work with them, I wasn't doing much because I felt like I wanted to vomit. They stopped talking to each other just to tell me to go home if I wasn't feeling well. As I left the room, I broke down in tears because a month ago they all would've dropped me off, and I felt like they only wanted me out. After that, for some reason, we started ignoring each other, which I didn't want, so obviously I was heartbroken. We had class together, and they completely ignored me. They finally talked to us when I asked them what the problem was and accidentally broke down in tears. I remember them telling me that they thought we wanted some space (we being me and my twin sister). While one of them comforted me, I glanced over and saw Sobbing not giving a care in the world. Things were casual for a while after that.
But recently, I walked away from them when they mentioned this TikTok. (It was the trend "These kids at my school. Awful. Have you seen The Outsiders? Call me Ponyboy.") I did this but with ORV and KDJ. So surprisingly, it landed on Joy's fyp, and they teased me for it. I got kinda pissed, so I walked away. (My bad lolol.) They then ignored me again. But then I decided to make up with them by writing a contract like Won Dae's so it'd lighten the mood. But when I got the contract back, they wrote that I had walked away from them 3 times mb homie and that we ignored them first. (We didn't. They sat next to us while we were playing Papa's Burgeria, and when we had to go to class, they just walked away together.) So on Wednesday, during the last lesson of the day, I tried to make up with them by apologising. But I guess God had different ideas that day because Sobbing and Banana asked if the teasing was the problem since I had walked away from them multiple times. So I made a joke trying to lighten the mood by saying, "Oh haha, sorry. That was the apex predator in me walking away from their prey." But they responded with, "That doesn't make any sense." I know damn well that if we weren't arguing, if it didn't make sense, they would've laughed at me because of how stupid it sounded. I got so pissed that I skipped class and did one of my revision maths papers instead. And now they completely ignore me. I'm really pissed because Sobbing over here isn't the best lad out there. She switches up on her day ones, as we can obviously see. Oh, now that I remember, I was asking them if they wanted to go to the mall. One of them said they didn't have money because they were saving up for a con. Totally cool. So I suggested Costco instead because they have really cheap meals there. (I was rejected.) So I even offered to go to the park together, but apparently enjoying nature is too boring now. Then Sobbing said she had no money, which was funny enough since her mum always gives her $50 when she goes out. (Sobbing is also on the greedy side. Once we all went to the library to "study" But there was a mall nearby that we wanted to go to. So my twin had spent her share on makeup, and I spent mine on the ORV novels 2 and 4 and Liptons.
Banana and Joy saw we had no money, so they offered to buy us a meal, which they did. :> So we felt bad and ordered ice cream for all of us except Banana since she's lactose intolerant. Funnily enough, Sobbing didn't pay for shit and just greedily tried to get the biggest serve while insisting she'd pay for the next meal.) P.S. Sobbing is racist! I remember going over to her house when she casually said a racist slur, and when I confronted her about it, she just said, "My house, my rules." Now I don't know what to do next. Can we all finally agree on this? They do not actively target real people, and they do not cause tangible, direct harm to anyone living and breathing. Fictionis fiction. Separate it from reality. At the end of the day, it is literally just entertainment.

If we are seriously going to run with you all logic that “if you write rpe / read rpe stuff / enjoy it that means you’re a bad person” then let’s be 100% consistent about it, shall we? Should we cancel, ban and erase every single story ever written that features an evil serial killer? Gay characters need to be messy, complicated, flawed, even terrible characters just like straight does. We don’t always have to be soft, wholesome, or “good role models” or characters need to have consequences deserve to exist in stories. Letting us be dark, weird, evil, or anything else is how we actually become normal, not just wanting pure gay rep. You understand right the balance.

Just scrolling through Twitter and found out there are Thai remakes turning originally straight lakorns into queer versions like the BL remake of Love Destiny, and the GL remake of I Wanna Be Sup’Tar. I only caught on that because someone called Love Destiny is basically just “Love Upon a Time” lol

I was seriously surprised how there’s barely any huge homophobic backlash. I’m so used to seeing massive outrage every time this kind of change happens in Western media. It really feels like Thai lakorn fans are nowhere near as strict or weirdly homophobic about these shit compared to Western audiences. Like maybe now all know about the drama over Francesca’s in Bridgerton, like how people lost it just because Michael became Michaela. And don’t even get me started on the ridiculous amount of homophobic garbage thrown at HBO over ASOIAF, when GRRM himself confirmed those characters were gay like literally years ago like why are western people so mad for no reason even the man is literally fine with it for live-action like HBO getting hate even when they didn't make things up in the games of thrones one turning straight into gay because they are gay according to the author. (GRRM only gets upset when writers mess things up for erasing Maelor and Nettles just to make Rhaenyra look more saintly. It’s so funny how people turn the house of the dragon drama about “turning Rhaenicent into lesbian” when that’s not even what GRRM is actually talking about at all). The difference between how people react to this stuff here versus over in the West is honestly night and day.

That said, I’m still not fully sold on remaking straight stories into queer ones. Even if it’s calmer in Thailand, I’ve seen how changing straight into gay, gas still end up getting so much unnecessary hate because of it. I need some perspective. Recently, someone in my family caused a major financial mess, and my parents strictly asked me to keep it a secret and not tell anyone around us. but because i was so stressed and overwhelmed by the situation, i accidentally vented about it online to a small group of friends in a private Discord server. it was TMI, but i didn't share any real names, ages, or locations, and I immediately deleted the post after an hour once I calmed down.

but now, I feel horribly guilty for breaking my parents' trust. i'm also deeply anxious about whether someone might have screenshotted it, even though my profile doesn't contain any real-life info about me (it's just a typical Discord account).
