Usually the covers would have my curiosity at first. I remember seeing Dreaming of the Dokkaebi cover and I thought I should read it coz it’s beautiful and well redhead. Turned out great. If the cover isn’t appealing I’d at least see the summary/description of the story. reply
ofc the character design, if it's not my taste then I won't read it ever, one of the reason I actually like reading novels, because I can just imagine what they look like and it'd fit my taste reply

I do love an interesting plotline like mythology and folklore based stories but what makes me the most interested has got to be the art style and cover art of the manhwa/manhua because I'm quite picky about the way authors draw the characters, and I figured this out when I first read Shutline and I'm sorry fans of this manhwa but the art styl...... reply
For webtoon/manga, it's the cover. For novels, it's the summary or cover (sorry, I'm a simple person).
If you're talking about what draws me in and makes me continue after i started initially, then for comics its panelling, visual flow/sequence. For novels, it's the writing style/tone, or the story premise (i can get really into story tropes so e...... reply
