My first anime was Attack On Titan. My stepbrother Pedro watched a lot of anime and that was the first one I saw with him and I was 10 and it scared the shit out of me first episode. The first manga I ever read was Fairy Tail reply
Very first anime was probably inuyasha on adult swim and Sailor Moon. Didn’t know they were anime at the time. First animes I watched when I actually understood the diffrence between cartoons and anime, were Fruits Basket and Ouran highschool host club. First manga I ever read was Peach Girl. I have PTSD, which overlaps quite a bit with depression and anxiety. When I was younger, I had a dream of creating comics myself, but my mental and physical health issues have worsened to the point where it's difficult for me to concentrate on anything or sit in one position without intrusive memories or physical pain kicking in, so I read manga as...... reply
If I don't remember wrongly I was 11 when I started getting into yaoi, honestly, I don't remember if there was like an especific anime that got me to know it or something online or just anyhting. I do remember that the first yaoi I fell in love with was Junjou Romantica lmao I've seen the entire anime like more than 40 times. Currently I'm 15 years...... 3 reply
I got depression i high school. Probably because of stress, pressure from school and so on. My school was very strict and i hated it. It got so bad that every time I went to school i got fysically sick and i needed to go home. Around that time i started to watch anime and read manga. It really helped to put my mind off school and try to feel better...... reply
I suffer mild depression (i.e. I have my episodes every now and again). This week was particularly bad, I got rejected from a University I really wanted to go to, resulting in my family being extremely disappointed with me. I broke down in front of my tutor today, and started crying for no particular reason when she said I was still struggling with...... reply
I kinda have depression, but its not as bad as others. I just get attacks for like an hour or so somedays, but it leaves. Manga has helped me, mostly shoujo, action, adventure and sometimes romance, but as everyone is saying its just a distraction. It helps me a lot tho, since my attacks are short, but its not the best always. The one that helped m...... 1 reply
My very first anime was Cinderella Monogatari. I don't think it's well known, but it has been broadcasting in my country when I was a child. It was before I knew that there exists something like anime but I really love it, watching it is like coming back to childhood reply
I am diagnosed with depression and anxiety. Anime or manga can help just as a distraction, like many people here said it. I try not to watch it as much as before because my work/studying is piling up on the side and that just puts more stress on me. But watching Natsume Yuujinchou and Mushishi gives me solace before sleep sometimes. Going to the gy...... reply
I never formally tested for depression but from some online quizzes they said I got mild one. I used to read manga to kind of 'cured' it or you can say to distract myself when I was lonely anad got nothing to do, but lately I got too picky and hard to find a good manga.
I always looking for yaoi, romance with bits of intrigue, a long lenght (not o...... 1 reply

More often than I'd like, especially in the last couple of years, I've felt apathetic and indifferent towards many things happening in my real life. Sometimes, that apathy delves into depression. But reading has become my Go-To when I need something to validate that I'm normal and can still feel empathy.
Usually when I'm not feeling so good, looki...... 1 reply

'Things' are your daily life experiences by which you get to know the world around you. Tell others about the things you did, may it be cool, sad, crazy or funny. You can also find things that you might want to do and a friend to do it with!
