I finished high school four years. To tell you how my high school life was it was ok. I moved to a whole new school with people I didn’t know so it was a new start for but my first year wasn’t that great for me. The only good thing was that I met my best friend that year so that’s it. For the next three years I had the best time ever, because...... reply

Heyy my grades are not the best and people find me a freak because of the way I look but honestly I love different I don't think it really matters what people think of you because you can't make everybody like you just be yourself and you will properly find like minded people in school people laugh at me and judge me pretty bad but I have a couple ...... 1 reply
Speaking as someone who went finished high school a number of years ago now: when I was in high school, people older than me told me it was probably the most fun and carefree experience of their lives. I'm beginning to see what they mean.
High school is not horrible, although there may be a few days that may be horrible. You may need time to settl...... reply
As someone who did highschool longer than most because I kept moving countries and missed large chunks of a school year, I ended up repeating grade 9 twice. So here is the thing. Don´t give a shit about your image. Trust me. It doesn´t matter. Be yourself and you will find friends. Establish a relationship with those friends that will carry on ev...... 2 reply
Everyone has a different experience. I hated high school but that was mostly because I went to a terrible school. Fights broke out everyday. A student even attacked a teacher. The school was rampant with gang activity and loud, boisterous assholes that I couldn't relate to. Girls wanted to fight me because I dyed my hair red....It was fucking insan...... reply
I'm in yr 12 or a senior (I'm sure that's what Americans say for yr 12s right?), yeah nah but honestly I think it's some what important, and unimportant to care about others opinions of you. While of course you shouldn't be obsessing over others opinions of you, it does also set a standard for how to get along with people better. Not talking about ...... reply
Look, its gonna be about the fun. Ur gonna be stuck in high school for a while so make the most of it. Do fun things with fun people. Make good memories. Study heard towards the last years, just have fun. Dont matter about anyone else, doesnt matter if people judge or whatever, as long as your happy then everything good. It took me a while to find ...... 1 reply
in a small town, there'll be some names, but nothing violent, buck up or ignore it
in a big city, you'll get the TV stereotype, kick some ass or get out of the way
either way, ignore the university pressure, pass with the highest grades you can muster, and look for a trade school, university is worth less and less each year and more and more expen...... reply
I'm still in High School (Junior) but yeah most in my school treats us depending on our class and grades so yeah its kinda horrifying, and the pressure is big too when we enter to Senior High...Just to survive just try to remember this qoute "Hardwork doesn't gurantee success, but no success can be possible without hardwork." Yeah it helped me go t...... reply
My high school experience was not bad. It was nothing like you see on tv. At least from my experience there was no " queen bee" no " dumb jock". Nobody dared about the cheerleaders and football players. I'm awkward af and tend to be introverted mostly, yet I knew quite a lot of people, people who would fall into the " popular" category going by tv ...... 1 reply
I think high school is a big joke. It really doesn't prepare you for anything and its such a drag. Don't worry about your appearance or personality because nobody will really care/gossip unless you look like you are homeless (which I assume is not the case). As for grades it will be ok if you just continue being a good student. I am not too sure wh...... reply
I had a good experience in high school.
People usually don't care about what you look like as long as you look decent (not dirty and take minimum care of your appearance. No need to dress up or wear makeup).
As for the grades, I deeply encourage you to get as many good grades as you can. However, people won't really care either unless you fail your...... 1 reply
Nah you dont sound stupid, especially with how media portrays High School life. Im currently a senior and lemme tell you, not a lot of people care about how you look or what your "image" is. Freshman year is probably the only judgeyish year cuz incoming kids think its just like high school musical or theyre middle school phases still need to sizzle...... reply
it's not as bad as ppl make it out to be tbh. your grades in your first year don't matter as much as your last two years. tbh an A/B average grade is great. normal colleges aren't super strict on grades end. i would say high school is more of learning how to be independent, in prep for college (where u have to remember and do everything yourself.)....... 1 reply
I know I sound fucking stupid and there are millions of websites on which I can look up advice, but I feel super comfortable in this community. I recently started high school and Im worried and uncertain about a lot of things. I want to know if high school is as horrible as people say it is. I'm just finding myself obsessing over everything, how I look, how my grades are, how people see me. I feel like it's not very healthy and all. I am genuinely curious about how much my grades really matter and how important is my image. I also want to know about everyone's experience.
Everybody pretty much gave you the the right answer but the one thing that stood out to me was "They are always talking about how being an adult means you always end up having sex with your crushes." I don't mean to offend you but that was really dumb. That's something that a child or teenager would think or say. When it comes to being an adult in ...... 2 reply
'Things' are your daily life experiences by which you get to know the world around you. Tell others about the things you did, may it be cool, sad, crazy or funny. You can also find things that you might want to do and a friend to do it with!
