Beautifully done story of a prostitute and a contract killer who fall for each other despite all odds. Of course, nothing goes right and just when they catch a break, things go downhill all over again. The story is so packed with angst that you'd need a couple packs of tissue to get through it. Everything around them is so horrible and yet their love for each other is so pure and heartwarming. A must read and a masterpiece.
SPOILERS: What I loved about this is where the name Itou comes fro
This is both a prequel and a sequel to "Itou-san". It covers the gaps in the other story and gives the true happy ending. So it's better to read the other one before reading this. It explains a lot about how they met and what Kyosuke was like before meeting Itou. Adding this here since "Itou-san" won't be complete without reading this too.
Warning: Rape, Depression, Death
What makes this a masterpiece is that the author takes us through not just the physical abuse but also the mental abuse that Jeremy suffers, how he slowly loses his sanity and sinks into despair and depression. After seeing him suffering over and over again, being trapped and cornered and having nowhere to go, we are able to relate to his actions and behavior in the second half of the story. Very well-written.
Interesting.... A story about a guy who can lie in a world of people who can't and gets caught by a nosy guy.... This is an interesting concept... his extra ability gives him an advantage but how will society treat him once they find out that they can't blindly trust him... We get a glimpse of that from the way his father treats him... Then there's the mandatory other love interest who is too perfect... This story not only introduces an interesting concept but also carries it thro
This writer is extremely talented in taking a cliched plot and transforming it into an amazing work of art. Excellent characterization, brilliant plot and beautiful story-telling. The way the relationship between the 2 MCs develops and their love for each other is relatable and believable.
Warning for incest.
Absolutely love this one. All the characters are lovable, especially Yuuto. He is one of my favorite manga characters of all time - pure sunshine. Ryuusei is a cinnamon roll too - he is so gentlemanly that he drives poor Yuuto to a corner by insisting on waiting to go all the way despite Yuuto saying he doesn't mind. A frustrated Yuuto has to finally say, "come on, read between the lines", LOL. The conflict and their relationship is handled sensitively without
This story primarily focuses on the game 'karuta' that combines a lot of skills - knowledge of 100 poems, listening skills, memorization skills and response time. Arata, a quiet kid from the suburbs whose only interest is in karuta, struggles to get along with other students in his new school in the city. Chihaya, a tomboy, reaches out to him and Arata teaches her karuta. She falls in love with the game right away and for the first time she has a dream for herself - to become the karuta Queen.
Haruto is an omega living in a rural area where people have prejudice towards omegas. He tries to make money by selling his body to the men in the village so that he can save enough money to leave the village when he finishes school. Then he meets a new classmate, Takagi, who changes all his notions about himself and life in general, on its head. A very good manga worth reading.
This story is for mature adults who have already seen and can cope with the negative and ugly aspects of the world around us. The focus is on victims of psychological (and physical) crimes perpetrated by mentally unstable individuals. This is an excellent portrayal of how the victims struggle to come to terms with what has been done to them, wondering whether it was somehow their fault. Not a pleasant read but definitely thought provoking. Also, has a happy ending of healing and new beginnings
Excellent story. The story telling has a layered approach and every dialogue and incident has meaning. This one has a lot of potential and is going to be an interesting ride. Nishida Higashi is just amazing.
Synopsis (contains spoilers): Tsuchida is a reckless detective, who is relegated to patrol duty after being shot by a criminal. He meets Haruki while on patrol and falls for him. Only after they spend a night together does he finally realize who Haruki really is.
