One of the nicest stories I've ever met. It really shows how people are shaped by their surroundings. All 3 main characters (4?) are such awesome people who continue to be good humans despite harsh circumstances.Their relationship with each other is so beautiful and precious even when it doesn't work out.
I especially loved and cried for Yoo Won's situation because of just how fragile and precarious it is. He hardly has anything that the smallest mistake can destroy his whole life.
Beautifully depicted story of Michitada and Tachibana who care deeply about one another but keep missing each other due to fear of society and other external circumstances. First Michitada runs away abroad for years when he sees Tachibana with a girl, not realizing why he hates it. When they meet again, he realizes that Tachabina has cherished the marbles he left behind among the debri of the ramune he bought in their last encounter and just as he realizes his feelings, they are separated again.
What I liked most is the different points of view the mangaka brings up. I like the point of view that Niimura brings to the discussions. There's a beautiful undercurrent in the novel of showing how it's important to view things from a balanced perspective and understand that what's right and what's wrong are not always black and white and it's important to accept that different people have different perspective and we don't all have to agree to be able to get along.
Quite well done. There are some serious plot holes that are never filled but the overall handling of emotions and well-defined characters more than make up for it. A very good read.
Sehyun is an unlucky guy who just can't catch a break. He lives a life on the edge with no hopes or dreams when Boris helps him once. To Sehyun, Boris and his family represent everything that he yearns for but Boris just ignores him.
Exceptionally well done. This is quite a long story but it is an interesting read with feuds, intrigues, 2 lead characters who are always at cross purposes, and a window into a bygone era. The attention paid to the supporting cast brings the characters to life and makes the story vibrant. The art is beautiful to boot.
The story does lag in places and some of the plot points are a little far fetched, like the way Katsuragi resolved Souchirou's love troubles. Still, a great read.
A very different manga that gives edge of the seat entertainment.
Warning: superstition, horror, psychological
Jeong Ha has a physique that is weak with low immunity to evil spirits, something he inherited from his mother who died giving birth to him. When he is 10, his father goes to the misty mountain to request help from the Buddhist priests there. The person who comes down the mountain is 10 year old Sora, who, despite how dire the situation seems, is eager to sign a contract.
It's a very good story about realistic characters and realistic situations. A well-written story.
Jeonghan has been in a relationship with Kangwoo for 8 years but decides to break it off and walk out. He doesn't provide a proper explanation but it is clear that the break up just as painful for him as it is for Kangwoo. They both work in the same photo studio whose owner, Gyu Tae, is their senior from university. Jeonghan and Gyu Tae get into an ambiguous relationship and the story unfolds.
Masami is gentle and caring but highly indecisive when it comes to his love life. He is scared of being alone so he has at least 3 boyfriends at any given time and sleeps with others on top of that. An act of kindness from Masami on a day when he was at his worst makes Tora fall for him hard. So he decides to become the 4th boyfriend despite knowing he can never have Masami all to himself. It's all good until Masami starts wondering why Tora is not jealous of his other boyfriends.
How do you take it story about death and moving on and make it upbeat and uplifting? This manga does that. It's not exactly HE, but sort of?
Hide, a bright teen full of life is struck down by lightning. The only person who can see his ghost is his classmate Yuugen, who lives like a ghost. Hide assumes he is not able to move on because of his regrets and enlists Yuugen's help to get through them.
Very well written manga. There are a few plot points that are not very fleshed out and some that don't make sense. But overall it's really well done in terms of capturing the emotions and struggles of the 2 main characters. Their characters are well captured and stay consistent throughout the story.
