I can already tell you’re going to have 4–5 people in the comments trying to explain and defend the cheating and the ML’s whole drama, so be ready I genuinely laugh out loud at how some people would never tolerate a cheater in real life, yet will bend over backwards to defend a cheating ML in fiction like their whole life depends on it.
Wasn't he supposed to be looking for MC sister at that point like if he really liked his sister who really is supposed to be MC? Why would he hook up with a random woman? I just never understood that for the story. That is cheating to me. Also, he doesn't care that like MC/his sister who he supposed to be married to him and is is "wife" is being cheated on publicly. I'll read it when it's complete but I thought that cheating story line was so unnecessary and messy for no reason.
The problem is that whenever a man cheats, people tend to forget who did the cheating. But if it’s a woman, especially a woman or a bottom in manhwas, they literally slut-shame them all the time. Just take Serena as an example. I think they literally slut-shame her every single time. And if you go for Broken Things, people forget that he was a manwhore and a cheater in the first place. Yeah, she manipulated him, but bitch, he was cheating from the start. It wasn’t like it happened only because of her. He cheated with dozens of women. It was never even a big deal to people.
Exactly , I remember I was complaining about the cheating decades ago when the cheating chapter dropped and people were bending over backwards, trying to convince me, it wasn't a problem to see nuance, and I was like we're gonna have to agree to disagree. if you're gonna pretend to be mcs fiancé/ur loves fiance (aka the sister who's eventually revealed to mc himself ) and you publicly cheat on mc ???where mcs having to sit through the cheating ladies coming for him it's over bro. That's such bad writing just for like a stressful plot moment and it's worse knowing that MC and ML will get together and MC had to go through cheating simulation because of ML and the humiliation of being accosted by the people ML cheated with. Yeah the slut shaming is crazy I remember one of the bottoms in a manga chose to end up with like three tops instead of picking and the girlies are in the comments just like slut shaming him like crazy.another win for the patriarchy I guess
The problem is that authors are very tolerant when it comes to writing cheating MLs, manwhore MLs, and whatever the hell they do, but they want their MCs to be pure and untouched. If the MC cheats, oh my God, it’s suddenly the end of the world.
And whenever someone points this out, people always come with the same “It’s fiction, learn to differentiate between fiction and reality” argument. I’ve heard that sentence God knows how many times. Like, if you don’t have an actual counterargument, just say that instead of throwing out the same tired line every time.
The bigger problem is that even when authors write a cheating trope, they rarely let the person who got cheated on have other partners or experiences. Bro, if you’re perfectly capable of writing an ML who cheats and still expect them to end up together—especially when it’s obvious from the cover—then why does your brain suddenly stop working when it comes to the MC? You’re okay with the ML being a cheater, but the MC has to remain pure and untouched? That’s hypocritical as hell.
Mind you he got raped by a men.he didn’t want to sleep with a dude and that’s fine y’all are saying what about the sister then okay well the sister & him are not married he did not marry his sister he married her brother so ya yall we’ll get over it or just drop the story if you go complain about it

For those who want to read this Manhwa, the ML cheated with a married woman.
It's so disgusting I dropped it instantly.
