I read the novel and they really skipped plenty of details of world building that makes up the novel haha, ig it makes sense considering the novel is so SLOWW PACED (its slice of life). I love that they fixed the pace but still, i can't help but feel sad over the details in the novel they talked about how most of those kids are actually orphans, (carnation children, meaning flower childrens) They're orphans who actively seeks out guardianships because 4th class citizens (the poor) has major problems so they mass abandoning of children is common. There was even a saying it's a dumping ground for discarded humans. Those carnation children promotes themselves on the streets to be adopted , this culture happened right after the great catastrophe (Abt 2 generation ago) happened in spring where parents day comes close, (a day where children would give carnation (flower) to their parents ) So abandoned children would get those flowers in honor of their deceased parents but they had no one to give it to ofc ... Sum adults, out of pity, began taking those children holding flowers bit by bit until it became a phenomenon and children who can't even get a flower would make flowers out of tissues or discarded paper hoping adults would pity them enough to take them in. And maybe some families do try to take them in as real family but nowadays it's like hiring children for labors huhu. It's a sad detail, maybe it'd be cover in later chapters? Or they rearranged the pace of it to be revealed idk

I don't get why ppl mistake Jio as a human fr. Yes its a misunderstanding genre but it's obvious he's actually not a human anymore but a creature of some sort. The evidence proving so is literally every chapter !! It's just he's an unreliable narrator. I mean c'mon, he died and became a painting with an absurb adaptability. You think he's still human after all that?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Jio DID infact die in the fire. He made it into the classroom to his painting, but he didn't survive. He is not human anymore, and as the previous commenter explained, he's simply an unreliable narrator because he simply doesn't know he died and therefore thinks he's still human.

I dont wanna be rude or anything but It's pretty obvious that he is an unreliable narrator of the story, (on purpose) and with how he looks to people it's obvious he got transformed into a monster and is just unavare of it. It was explained in one of the chapters that there is 2 ways to turn someone into a monster and jio's case was one of the options. I'm just waiting for him to realise this and the fact he is in fact a very powerful being now.
(Also when he toned down his powershe did look like a human to people, until he did that noone mistaken him for human) (=・ω・=)
I'm sorry, but I don't really see the issue with my comment. The whole story points to the obvious fact that Jio isn't human any more, and he's the ONLY one who still believes that he is.
