Yk what Im kinda hoping for? That Vaye makes the better decision here and plays double agent instead of truly aiming to take down Michelo.
He heard that Lorena was pregnant again and instead of thinking about himself for the first time he does something selfless, because he is reminded of how she passed away and unable to risk her well-being.
I'm not hoping to redeem him, but it'd be character growth and about damn time for serious self-reflection, if he's capable of that.
Might be a far reach. If he's serious about what he said to the prince it just goes to show that after all this time he still doesn't understand where he went wrong. He can't have his toy so he'll throw a tantrum like the pathetic little man he is.
The story is neat in the way that the magic is interesting. Like this whole thing with the destined partner and how their powers work. I wish there was more on that here, exploring the dynamic of those power wielders and their pheros, how that came about, elaborate on the power system, and what not.
I found the first 20 or so chapters way more interesting because it felt like ML would slowly start to uncover things like that for the sake of being with FL. But it just nosedives into your usual "we're getting fucked up the ass by our enemies and take it until we can have an epic payoff in a few more dozen chapters" plot. I'm glad FL is starting to make moves in the most recent chapters, but it feels like the usual slop.
Give me more of those original world building elements instead of letting these sociopathic nobles duke it out YET AGAIN.
Maybe it's because I'm over the whole regression trope but when FL went back in time I just died a little inside. It felt anticlimactic af and then just turned into another braving high society manhwa in vaguely historic fantasy setting iteration 100-something
I understand that! I was kinda hoping that, instead of regression, she would come back to the present in her original life with her strong warrior appearance and strength and then possibly meet the grand duke who thought she ran away. I think the plot could’ve been even better that way (but this is just my opinion, you don’t have to agree with me lol)
EXACTLY, I thought she was gonna be found in the middle of nowhere by the Grand Duke as this crazy warrior. Like there could've been a whole thing about correcting his ruined af reputation, overall more focus on whats his deal, instead of going with this prophecy angle while FL's warrior vibes take a fat nap. Or maybe I just think that way bc the manhwa is skipping over so much.
(Sorry in a Dave for this rant lmao)
FR!! And I also wish there would be a manhwa out there where the strong FMC was overpowered and actually had muscles like most other action manhwas that usually have MMCs! I’ve read most of the FMC fantasy-action manhwa but almost NONE OF THEM had any muscles at all!! I would read one and just see this supposedly strong Fmc with noodle arms, and then if that wasn’t enough the ML love interest would either tell the Fmc not to fight even though she’s strong or completely overshadow her!!! I’d also see this occasional “she used to be the strongest knight but chose to be a lady” trope and cry because WHY CANT SHE BE BOTH STRONG AND LADYLIKE??? WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE ONE OR THE OTHER!?!? GIVE THE WOMEN MUSCLES AND A DRESS WTH
Yea, especially in the modern shoujo genre many stories default to the "female mc is a noble lady" type trope, if you can call it one. I think this largly stems from the default fantasy cliche too though. Sexism always stares at a woman from right around the corner but it is the whole shoujo isekai/regression genre with its cliches that keeps the wheel spinning. It used to sell well and now we're flooded with badly written be-lady slop.
I also hate how many of these "She used to be/is the strongest" plots feel the need to downplay the female protagonists strength and int just to create some flimsy drama, and act like the stakes are high when they've been chilling in the basement this whole time.
Maybe not the case here, but many manhwa stories have sinned this way.
I recommend beware the villainess if you haven't already read it. The Fl is a transmigrator and is as funny as she is strong, and takes no nonsense and BS tropes the novels mls try to force on the og female lead. She's strait up refreshing af in my opinion. She takes up the sword and has a taller more muscular physic (no muscle muscle is shown, but she's also not a total twig). I also recommend I tried to be her loyal sword. The Fl in that one is a sword master and was shown with nice biceps and battle scars from her time as a mercenary. Also a transmigration story, but the Fl doesn't put much stock in the original novel as its shown constantly to be an unreliable narrator in regards to the world she herself is living in. Sorry I don't have any warrior Fl stories that don't have a twig Fl other than those two, and none that don't involve transmigration or regression.

You know, usually I think these types of antagonists are the product of lazy writing, but the story is so adamant about how shallow and selfserving nobles can be that all these monkeys with a power boner look plausible. The narrative basically screams at you that these crazy rich people live to be swallowed by their own pride, so what else is there to motivate them but that?
