the way the title now references back to the daughter's name has me on my knees
This story does its 9/5 and does a good job for being in the niche that it is but there's not much beyond that if you ask me. Put aside how clearly the manhwa had to trim a lot of fat and skip scenes from the novel (havent read it, its just that obvious).
It's a power fantasy, and pretends like it's trying to liberate FL while in reality she's in the palm of ML's hand basically the whole time. Like, we're not really trying to deal with the implications of that, and just indulging in the power fantasy of having this OP god-like Ken doll be down bad for her while outrizzing all her other men. It's a bit of a shame imo, but as I said it is what it is. It accomplishes what it's trying to achieve.
There are also some inconsistencies that come about from the manhwa rushing so much, especially at the end. The final happy end doesn't feel as satisfying bc of it and leaves some questions.
Like why was the demon set free to begin with? If both his halves were sealed, how come he was able to do the whole monster under the bed thing? What happened to the egg? Lowkey I was thinking FL would adopt the child, and do her best to raise them well as an act of absolution but also a final vengeance where she's responsible for the last remnant of her nemisis, and make them a good person despite how cursed their origins are.
There is also so little about ML's life and what he really went through, which doesn't help the op ken doll accusations lmao. Also, also don't understand how the green tea bitch was so convinced that her child would get 3 wishes too which she could just hijack or smth???
Anyway, you get the gist.
Please spoil me a little here.
I just started reading this, I'm like at chapter 4 and pulled the emergency brakes when I read what is def not gonna be a love interest (sarcasm) say "she reminds me of *her".
I'm very jaded when it comes to a lot of romance reincarnation tropes so please tell me how hard this one is commiting to the theatrics instead of trying to be vaguely original or at least well written-
This would be so much better if it didn't insist on using and abusing the "surprise, the villain is actually beloved by many" trope.
The brother's dialogue must be mistranslated or smth. There is one pov of his where he's being way too incesty with his affection - at least I hope it is a mistranslation. The conspiracy guy too is over the top, like why does everything have to boil down to the bare bones that is Isabelle being so lovable, actually, but nobody tells her.
It just invalidates the og Isabelle, yk what I mean? The manga established well how much of a loss it is, the tragedy of too little too late and what not, but at the same time is getting caught up in the trope and overstaying its welcome.
This does have a good twist or two though, and I enjoyed the yearning. I hope they do something interesting with the crown prince.
holy melons, homegirl has a whole titanium spine or smth
Let's hope this won't commit to the torture of becoming a 200+ chapter long, drawn out essay about how special FL is while it constantly throws her into random ass side quests like becoming a popstar.
This looks so promising, PLEASE do not sin...
yo didn't ppl say that the 3rd arc wont be in the manhwa?
That crusty duke is gonna see the Emperor and clean shaven ML side by side one day, play spot the difference, and have one hell of a bad day
Who tf cares who she ends up fucking, I'm more interested in what is going on with FL. Honestly, it's getting more obvious already - and I'll lowkey be dissapointed if that heart she spoke of is not her true dragonesque ancient demon body buried beneath the territory which actively possesses red Hailey's body.
I'm team Gil. Oscar just seems like your basic prince/knight in shining armor type and has little to no flavor. He barely matters in the story, and is nowhere near as close to Cecilia as Gilbert.
I wish there was more gray nuance between these black and white characters. Everything Tia does is portrayed as this kind act when in reality most of her thoughts are calculative and she's all about making profit and collecting power. Everyone on her side is a saint, meanwhile everything outside of her circle is the ogre emoji in a nutshell. People been giving it too much credit just bc the art is pretty.
You know, usually I think these types of antagonists are the product of lazy writing, but the story is so adamant about how shallow and selfserving nobles can be that all these monkeys with a power boner look plausible. The narrative basically screams at you that these crazy rich people live to be swallowed by their own pride, so what else is there to motivate them but that?
Yk what Im kinda hoping for? That Vaye makes the better decision here and plays double agent instead of truly aiming to take down Michelo.
He heard that Lorena was pregnant again and instead of thinking about himself for the first time he does something selfless, because he is reminded of how she passed away and unable to risk her well-being.
I'm not hoping to redeem him, but it'd be character growth and about damn time for serious self-reflection, if he's capable of that.
Might be a far reach. If he's serious about what he said to the prince it just goes to show that after all this time he still doesn't understand where he went wrong. He can't have his toy so he'll throw a tantrum like the pathetic little man he is.

I like the female gaze here, I just wish FL had a bit more in her head. Like why does she have to be dumb in every situation ykwim? Let her be a bit shrewd and fully exploit her sexist husband for her own pleasure.
The plot is very predictable and has been done a dozens times, but it gets the emotions right.
Also, I giggle like a school girl when I see the dragon's name. I read art-anus every damn single time.
Istg, if the art was worse people would be calling this basic af lmao
Like I'm sorry, ig the characters are cute, but it's just the usual vague reincarnation slop.
Yk what, I gave this neuron-deficient despot too much credit.
I hope the pig shits in his bed.
