are things loosely based off things from the past. Fiction writings that we read that sometimes are based off real things that have happened or just pulling information of living standards that have happened in the past. I'm going to be blunt on this subject folks, because i've seen to many people freaking out over history manga's "OMG I can't believe the author did that!!".
The past is the past. You did not live during that time. You do not get to sit there and try to hold up their standard of living to todays. Their political, race, religion, none of it. Why you ask? Because all of it had nothing to do with you! You might think "It does because it was my ancestors that did it." Yea, and if it wasn't for them surviving during times of no electricity, most countries not having plumping (Rome not included in this). And other things you take for granted today. You would not be here today. They survived a yearly death march of pledges from bugs, you can kill easily today. They dealt with dying at 40 years old of old age (60 if lucky).
They dealt with more things on their plate daily and more stressful just to survive a day. Then you can whine about from this post. So, please. Before you go reading a historical manga and try to compare them. Go do a reenactment of that time without your cell phone hidden somewhere. And not just for a day, make it a good long week. Then you can whine.
i've said this before and i'll say it again and again. QUALITY OVER QUANTITY! that means don't make me translate your work. and don't play toss the pages where you feel like with the mangas. Put them in correct order. It makes people not want to read them. If they don't want to read them it makes them not want to go out and buy them. Meaning Authors don't earn money and they don't make more manga's because the publishing companies say "you're not making us any money, we're dropping you" Get a clue and stop doing stupid. Stick to quality work!
And don't try to sit there and tell me it's "hard doing this" i have had my hand in doing this between when i started on this site and now. I'd rather wait longer for quality work than get 10 chapters of crap.
so, due to losing a friend, i'm in a very depressed mood.. i'm blowing through manga's left and right. anything sad popping up i toss it to the side. sorry can't handle that right now. sssoo anyone got any fuzzy, fluffy, 4 paws and a tail cute stuff?? no sad please!!
heya, i rec reading 'My Giant Nerd Boyfriend' and 'Boyfriends.' in the webtoon app, they are really light and easy to read, + the 1st one i mentioned has a cute doggie (if you do see chapters with pale colors than the usual, i advise u skip them if you don't want to feel emotional, but it did also help me through tough times :'D)
i hope u have nice days ahead :)

bad news of a friend passing. anyone got happy animal fluffy manga recs??
Here's a hug for you Xander. I'm sorry. Here's some fluffy cute animal centered manhwas for you: https://www.mangago.me/tag/Fluffy+animals/
you have proof saying the devs have gone "all clear it's ok to deal with your lists now" STOP saying you can mess with your lists! people out there saying lists are ok to mess with and things aren't coming back are really pissing people off. Not just people that are trying to help others. but also the people looking for help in the first place.
read the link below. NO WHERE in there does it say the devs are done!
https://www.mangago.me/home/mangatopic/21255174/
let me give you all one last heads up. Some of you out there are stating to go ahead and mess with the lists because they aren't locking you out anymore. please ignore those people. Here's why. They really don't understand computers, software and websites apparently. If a hardware piece of a computer, in this case the server goes down (aka fries) you have to put new software into it. then have to make it connect to the other parts of the server. then you have to make sure it can link with the website. after that can you start to try and get back the information from the fried server part. ONE PAINFUL FILE AT A TIME!!!
Locking everyone out of their lists also locks the devs out. it doesn't work having to lock you out, work on the page unlock it, check it, go back to locking it, pull the file (in this case a manga) put it up on the list. unlock check to see if its there, lock the thing again and repeat until all the files are pulled.
it's easier to leave things unlocked and pull and just going back and forth to check.
IF the devs REALLY wanted to be jerks, they'd lock the whole site to everyone and hey guess what, none of us would be able to read anything until the glitch was fixed. So be happy you can still read mangas right now AND LEAVE YOUR LISTS ALONE!!
Welp, too late.
Kinda waited too much for it to be fixed, it stopped moving weeks ago and i kinda remember the most important stuff that i had so I'm fixing it myself when i have time.
If it fix itself, good, if not and it's true that only rated ones are going to come back I'm fucked. Never rated anything intentionally.
Appreciate your work in trying to help Xander, your efforts are clear. Problem is, aside from you, Sujin and perhaps a few others sharing information from the devs, we're not getting clear communication. There's definitely gonna be a few fools who still don't read a banner at the top of the site, but a majority of us would really appreciate an announcement of some kind. Otherwise, it's not clear what to do with your information saying it's not all gone, but others saying that it is gone. I understand your frustration, but one announcement, in clear words, clearly made from the devs themselves, would tell me what to do.
Way too late for this tbh. I guess we are just frustrated at the moment not at the dev but because our list our gone, mixed up, and same with our note we are never getting those back. Most of our work will never come back because they are not rated or tagged, that’s like half of my want to read. There is no timeline to when everything will be fixed, so it like a waiting game. Fix it yourself or wait until it be fixed?
All love to the devs though, I know they are trying their best
there were announcements when it first happened. sadly they got buried. also they are in the FAQ's section. though there is someone there pretending to be a dev and they aren't. so take that one with a grain of salt. they do parrot what the dev's did say in the original announcement a little, so it's not totally a miss.
sadly when it's equipment that fries vs software, yea the timeline for things extends. and when people don't listen to the "do not mess with things" that time line stretches even more. hardware frying takes longer to recover vs software because you are dealing not only with issues in the software, you're dealing with a damaged unit. an item that will only work so far before going "nope not thinking no more" were software you can sometimes give it a little time to think slowly and then it goes 'oh ok i got you, here this is what you're looking for"
Haha I know, I took some computer classes in high school. Just saying for people who don’t know about it they probably wouldn’t understand and just seem to think manual putting the list back together is good enough for them. For me I just want my notifications to stop being bomb with messages of things I want to read being in the already read section, which is causing a mix up in my noficaftions
oh thank gods someone else that understands computers on here and not just me and 1 other!!! as for the notifications, they can be turned off and on as you like on the notification section instead of on your list. at least that's how i did it before, unless they've changed it since then. i don't know anymore cause i've stopped bookmarking my stuff using the lists a while ago, i bookmark using firefox now
Fml love, I've been telling people to not edit stuff and then I'll go check their account and its mass edit + mass edit
I know I shouldn't lowkey act like a bitch about it but damn ヽ(`Д´)ノ
I also am concerned about my mass posting and I really want to stop knowing that thats just more packets for the site and shit but people just lowk do not listen
I've also sadly been skeptical of you and included that in some responses that I'm not sure if the info was 100%, but thats cause that Doll mf scared me to death fmlll
And even if the info wasn't 100% I still told people to NOT TOUCH THEIR LISTS
And what do I see when I enter their profiles??? ╥﹏╥
i have never said nor will i ever say i'm a mod or a dev of this site. unless they hire me and they haven't. i even corrected several people in several posts when they called me a mod or a dev before. and i will keep correcting people. all i do is gather up what i've read in the FAQ, what i've received from others (no not doll) and what i've received myself. figure out what's going on by that and what i've dealt with computer wise myself in the past. yes, i have gone to school for computers and business with computers so, there's a lot i do know about them. do i know everything there is to know about computers? no and oddly enough no one ever will because 1. they change almost daily now. 2. no matter what anyone says old or new, computers will have a mind of their own! 3. depending on how you treat a computer, it can last a lot longer than even the manufacturer says it should run for. more so on the newer ones that are built to only last a few years now.
Its ok I know you're not a site mod, I just meant the trusting if lists should/ should not be edited suff
Cause the site isn't 100% back up + a crash could happen again that I've been unsure to spread the don't edit stuff
Regardless it is good practice to save off site
And I wrote ts at fuckass o'clock so I was tired asf lowk rambling
Moving forward now, does your opinion on still advising others to not touch lists stand? I saw some people say they still got their lists edited these last few days so I'm lowk still advising against editing
That and with increased traffic and everyone mass editing their lists, it could cause issues
yes, the suggestion still stands. just remind them that if it glitches because they edited it's on them, others warned them. most of us that were around week 1 and part of week 2 have pretty much just walked away now. because why should we keep repeating the same things over and over again to people who wont listen? at the end of the day if their lists glitch on the final pass and they have to redo things, all we do is say "told you so" and walk away ::: shrugs :: though that is getting a little old too >.< ::: counts ::: let's see this started....January .....we're looking at 3 weeks now?? @.@ i've lost count ::: shrugs :: but now you see why the devs made their comments and left them in the FAQ's, put a bot response to the emails and have pretty much ignored everything else now as they work.
When it crashed, I thought I hadn't added two manhwas I was reading and ended up adding both to my "currently reading" list. After that, a few more reappeared from my "already read" and "want to read" lists, but none of my "currently reading" ones reappeared and none of my other works have returned anymore... Did I mess things up?
a lot of us have tried to tell people not to mess with things because it will slow the devs work down, and just frustrate you if another glitch happens. think about it, you add things and make your lists all pretty again and poof, another glitch happens and everything goes back to being on the "already read" list all scrambled up again.... would be rather frustrating for you wouldn't it??
It would be nice if we got some information so that people wouldn't constantly ask if they're still working on it or not. For example, I'm done anyway because I didn't have anything tagged. 2.5k mangas disappeared. I'm just desperate. I'm trying to rebuild somehow, but it seems pointless because I don't remember most of them. I just want to cry, it doesn't give me peace and I don't know whether to continue it or not.
Your saying that the manga I'm mot tagged or rated are never coming back ? Please tell me it's a joke I rated just the manga I really really like so I have just 80 manga in my list. I had more 1000 manga in my already list it's a joke right I'm dreaming ! I wanna cry when I think that I'm going to redo my list by hand !! I just realized that my list where gonne so I added more stuff and in that stuff manga I have already read.... I wanna die there no way that my list will come back one day ?? (Sorry if my English is weird I'm speaking rarely in English ;-; ).
you're doing fine, English isn't my first language either. things that weren't tagged or marked aren't coming back. At least that's what we've heard from an email from the devs. And that's the only thing we've heard from them since the start of February. Since then we've really heard nothing else. There are still glitches happening of people's stuff on their lists glitching when they try adding things to their lists. however, there are some who have added to their lists with no trouble. it's hit and miss. also some got lucky and their unmarked and untagged came back as well. It's really all over the place. Pretty much we have to wait until the devs say "we're done, all clear" before we really know the full damage of what happened. Or you risk doing your lists by hand again. It's why a lot of us suggest doing bookmarking of your lists in google or firefox bookmarks or even in a spread sheet as a backup.

Well, put on your boot straps folks and the cast iron pots as hats. Cause we be going down the missing everything lists again!! WWEEEEE!!! ok for most of us we know what's going to happen, because of the been there done that. For the rest. BREATH!!! if you've marked your stuff and rated it, hopefully it'll come back. If not, happy rereading. For now, there's your history lists to go through to keep track of things. And also as the same as the last go around. Use a different source to keep track of your stuff. The book marker that's apart of the browser program (the thing that makes it so you can look up webpages). Many people are using just regular paper at home. And others are using spread sheet programs. How you keep track is up to you. But the suggestion still remains. Use a different way to keep track that isn't this site.
