am i the only one who dont like some part of the story??
ok maybe i read too fast, so it becomes apparent how they drag out the middle too much just like in korean drama. these two keep pushing and pulling going back and forth between well and unwell (mentally). by the hospital scene when he was about to move, i think their obsession with each other began to get ridiculous. either that or i just think author cant convince me anymore.
dont get me wrong, it is possible for this to happen irl (san the dream power part). but author cant convince me why those dragging out part are necessary, why is it necessary to make them so broken except, well to make some drama.
the beginning part about the bullying was great, the use of dream power is so interesting. the enemies to friends part are so touching, the romance part start to get ridiculous.
tbh i also want to criticize jeongmin (i hope i dont misspel) for some of her judgements, but for fck sake she was only 18 (prolly 17 in international standard) and mentally unwell to booth. so i will only criticize author to make her character developmemt nonexistent, like girl has friends already, home looking better, initially she has a bit more spunk in the beginning... tho i think of it she has always been love brained (example her first crush), so i wished she would grow mentally and became the mature one in the relationship but nope, she kept enabling siyun she was as much toxic as siyun (maybe it was intended to be that way, they were both toxic to each other). so siyun's dad saying siyun should kept seeing her?? that's NOT a cool messege to tell readers that toxic relationship is ok bc two people are too much in love, irl love wont solve all relationship problem. i hope a teen who havent seen world much or someone in toxic relationship wont read this.
also, it is a bit weird that siyun was the one who look mentally so unwell yet he started to change by himself and choose to leave this toxic relationship (seeing psychiatrist do wonder). no one can convince me it is bc of jeongmin, jeongming is the reason but siyun muster up all that motivation by himself. i know how it is to be mentally unwell. and i just see siyun wake up one day seeing himself as monster and wanted to change. so relatable. ok jeongming is probably the mirror and moral compass and the bait or hook, but it will be for nothing if siyun didnt decide and motivated himself. for all this development i see jeongmin as quite passive party. (also i want to give gold medal to his ex crush. he is the true angel.)
but then they choose to be back tgt just feel like invalidating siyun's journey to recovery. i mean they can break up a bit, put some distance then get back tgt later if they want. keep seeing each other isnt the best option. AGAIN this isnt a good moral story. just saying, ok maybe it never intended to be but anyone not in the right mind reading this might get their world view skewed.
so i say what i said.
i'm still reading bc i already invested my time and it feel too late to back down now. i am still curious about how this end anyway. and the beginning is good, so i think i have still sentiment from that time
ah right maybe i'm just not the target audience. i dont like romance story that is too focused on romance part. i prefer if story have plot balance with other stuff. meanwhile the middle part of story only focus on their relationship so it feel draggy to me. obsessive love in story always been a hit or miss with me.
i really love the female lead, but i am not so sure about the male lead. he is a bit cute but not really standing out.
the body she occupied is a bit extreme... it is not easy to feel comfortable with a woman that had stalked you for 12 years. they made it too easy for others to find her familiar. the female lead also occasionaly did bad decision although she is supposed to hide her identity. the side quest with the mage is quite interesting. they didnt make him seem more depressed after that suicide tho. so i think this isnt a story that you need to be serious about bc all those plot points. as long as you like the female leas enough it is pretty entertaining.
the art style is relatively simple/clean among rofan webtoon, at first i cant see why she is now the most beautiful woman. i think her previous possesed body is more beautiful, the one with long straight brown hair. but you just get used to it.
mtl isnt that bad IF ONLY anyone bother to edit them a bit. not saying editting is easy either, however i bet they just run everything through mtl and dont even read the result if even the basic sentence structure is left unedited.
*i'm practicing my dissing, now i gonna cool off my head dont bother replying
but it feels a bit childish when it is in written form
sometimes i cringe when they describe the weird position the characters are in words, or when there are nude scene (bathing) and i have to read how sexy a character is ( ̄∇ ̄")
it looks so good in webtoon form however
╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ the art is just that good and it doesnt need to explain weird stuff with words, just visual
also i just notice more flaws with written form, so i usually more picky when reading novel, so eh just me problem.
unfortunately tho, meaning i have to wait for the upload
recent chapters feel a bit different, they use more panels to capture things, scenery, to give a pause between scene with dialogue... it gives more thought provoking vibe... to let stuff settle and stay longer on mind. even the characters drawing has became more defined(?) more good looking in my eyes. the trade off, the story become slower compared to before. i think the change is actually gradual but if you returned from rereading chapter 1 it become obvious. characters become more good loking is not unusual in manga, but the vibe changing and the pace become slower is a bit unusual. personally i really like the recent style...
why is it common in fiction that someone will get treated badly just because they cant smile/stone faced..... ( ̄∇ ̄") and somehow this feel more ridiculous in fantasy setting, arent they busy with fighting monster and create barrier?? the socio dynamic should be different from modern era. it alwasy take me off from the setting. ironically i can see it happen in modern world
on more random note perhaps these writers projecting themselves into the mc, bc how can they write an autistic character without saying them autistic, maybe bc they are autistic themselves... just kidding.
i am usually not this weak
i dislike the prince and the first nanny... they are kind but they are naive and ignorant which can be letal in delicate and important setting like this one.
it's not her bro's fault that she was hated, but his mere presence hurt her in so many ways. but he could so easily say "you better than me, you should be chosen instead, i cant study, i am not as good as you, you should also come to school" if that's not the stingest salt to the wound idk what it is. he looks kind but i'm sorry he looks like he doesnt have empaty. well he was just a child at that time so it should be a pass but later just...
why is it some people think that you should keep a good person who love you around even when they hurt you unknowingly? there is a thing called toxic positivity and even if it isnt intentional you should be allowed to cut them off from your life.
downvote if you want.
i'm really looking forward to a good isekai fantasy BL manga. but the MC has the usual cant-say-no condition and the ML is the usual overbearing possessive top. I feel sorry for the party members and the whole adventure ahead of them. whenever something happened ML's possessivenes and his easily triggered temper somewhat overshadow everything.
i mean, if that's the whole point of the manga there is no need to write so much about the adventure. i wish he is more three dimensional. he also wasted all mc's effort in fixing him. mc just digging his own hole all the way.
i wished it was a bit like scum villain, where the ML changed from the OG, but because of OG plot, some things cant be changed and they must work together to do something.
mc is good tho, he is very good. ml doesnt deserve him. i actually like him for not running away and tried to accept ML but he is also dense. he is like half dense half cant say no. so he is kinda better than other bot in romance department.
but i really cant stand the ml, im just allergic to him (and type).
i am 1000% agree with you, that's where i seek refuge when i am tired with japanese bl fantasy. but most of good isekai/fantasy BL are chinese... i want a japanese one too because i also like the vibe... and if possible i also want a manga version because jp mangaka drawing are so good.
so how dissappointed i am when i am almost had it with this one. tbh i think there are good fantasy manga out there, but there are more fans who prefer story and charcaterization like this so they got translated more, probably
oh i have tried to read it and i dont like it that much.
isnt it basically the same setup? mc who avoid ml (and relationship in general), ml who is persistent, obsessive, might be yandere (i dont remember), basically know no boundary. usually they will become together bc mc has no other choice. that kind of mc actually will be a downgrade from this manga (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜 (the ml is a bit better tho)
sometimes i am ok with that kind of setup, but this year i'm just craving of mutual love, old marriage couple vibe, mature love, etc...
i mean, readers get older so their taste change, but why bl manga setup doesnt get as much upgrade ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ isnt that a bit funny
