Aight wth was going on lol honestly this manhwa had a promising start, everything seemed fine, the pacing was fine, I could even excuse Yeon's stupidity from time to time like ig he's just a himbo. Then we got to the Ahn Jun part and the pacing went to shit, a lot of the dialogue I didn't get. Like yeah, the motive was there but the execution was bad and then of course they play it off as something funny and stupid, like the whole thing was so half-assed and couldn't even commit to Ahn Jun's motive.

Then the obssessive stalker came and it was worse, he was going on and on about everything being Yeon's fault and to stay by his side. Like ok love-hate relationship but genuinely that whole conversation was a fever dream, was it because of the curse idk? Bad execution as well. Don't even get me started on the ending

Dudeeeee I can't believe this is just 30 chapters. I feel like there was so much more to develop or to add onto their story which sucks but at the same time ending feels right for them. Pacing was normal, but at the same time it's crazy that I feel like so much had happened within 30 chapters, THAT'S WHY I SAID I NEEDED MORE.

I know Taehyun was such an asshole in the beginning, but as u progress through the story you just kinda feel sorry for him. Wanting to feel and not feel at the same time and not knowing what's going on with your emotions is bound to drive you crazy. Don't have much to say about Dayeol, he was just lovely and understanding. I just love them both as characters. Happy they found their way in the end even if they weren't as lovey-dovey, because that can also be realistic and I totally get what they mean by you've been friends for so long but it doesn't feel like anything's changed significantly. The author was worried that they really weren't able to portray the love part but I think it was still somehow present.

Overall, great read, pretty short and would leave you wanting more, complex characters, lots of drama and angst, and ending was good. I would 't necessarily say it was "happy" but it was good.

I always come back to this manhwa and never remember what ever happened, this is probably my 3rd time rereading this already lmfao. I remembered this as a good manhwa, especially because it was one of the OGs, but rereading this now it feels pretty shallow. Like it's not a bad manhwa, but it is pretty average and not something I would recommend right off the bat ykwim. I don't hate that it was pretty short compared to others, in fact I'm happy that the pacing was just right and it didn't drag on; the author just has a different manhwa for the side stories themselves (which I will have to read after this).

The characters were normal, not too complex and not too simple so there's not much to analyze here. Chiwoo was kind, understandable why he couldn't cut off his most important friend either, those friend breakups hurt even more than the romantic ones. Jihyun was definitely irredeemable though, I mean reading their angsty, sad scenes hurt but at the same time bro was selfish, manipulative, abusive, and a gaslighter and he tried to probably ease the pain by blaming it all on his dad. He wasn't wrong but he only did that when he finally lost Chiwoo; he deserved that. As for Kyujin, I don't really have anything to say, he does actually fall a bit flat for me. He was cute tho. (Edit: I keep forgetting he's as pushy as Jihyun tho minus the violence and abuse, that's why Chiwoo just keeps remembering Jihyun through Kyujin sometimes)

Overall, average read, doesn't make you think too much, short, and happy ending. There are themes of abuse or violence but this is nothing compared to others out here xD

Haha good lord the definition of emotional whiplash

I didn’t hate the story at the start, in fact I was very intrigued because there were so many things untold about Daon’s relationships with Jaemin and Soohyun.

How Soohyun’s character was introduced and told in the story was misleading, not 100% but it’s safe to say that you will get the wrong impression about his relationship with Daon and how Daon actually feels about him. At first I hated the guy, he was so psycho and coercive of Daon, but then the past and present unravel, so my hate for him actually turns into some form of sympathy. I’m not saying I defend him from hurting Daon physically, but their relationship was such a mess; Daon didn’t understand what he was feeling most of the time in addition to his stubbornness and low self-esteem. It felt so realistic and something I genuinely related to which is why I’m like: “there’s no way this author didn’t write this from experience,” because there’s no way in hell I would WANT to understand what these characters are going through. Like why did they get themselves into this mess? Jaemin definitely could have been with Daon if he just told him how he felt, all of them acted too late except Sunghyeon.

But imma be honest, it’s difficult to read through this when we’re caught up in this tedious process, from complex characters they just seem like annoying, stupid characters who can’t get anything right which is why I hated how things ended, I hated Daon and Jaemin. Like bruh stfu already, make up your mind. This is not to say Sunghyeon and Soohyun aren’t to blame either, they were too pushy, tbf Daon did try to push them away; but seriously Daon let’s not get too greedy. Daon is so lucky that Sunghyeon stuck around during all that mess AND isn’t a psycho like the other two lol.

Overall, complex characters but dialogue and scenes are very tedious which will make you hate the story, Daon and Jaemin piss me off, Sunghyeon #1 boy, Soohyun if u weren’t a forceful sob I would have sided with you. Read this at your own risk and if you’re patient enough.

This manhwa is so entertainingly BAD like I kept laughing because they were so stupid and I genuinely think that mostly came from reading the og translations instead of the official translations that were uploaded but I genuinely do not wanna reread allat atm to confirm. Pacing was kinda bad for me or rather the ending was rushed. Also the dynamic of the main couple isn’t actually very lovey-dovey especially since MC calls the ML boss all the time + the ML made him draft all those stupid ass rules for their relationship contract then MC only agreed reluctantly. It really made their relationship feel only like a comedy schtick and not something to be taken seriously. I personally don’t have a problem with that because I was reading this for fun but if you really want something that takes the romance serious between the characters this ain’t for you; there were cute moments tho

crystalvmin created a topic of Flashlight

I fear Yujin has bratted too close to the sun despite knowing this sunuvabitch Aaron was an obsessive psychopath but seriously though, did he only run away because of the guilt he carried as the son of Aaron’s kidnapper or what? Because even at that point Aaron had already forgiven him and he was willing to solve all the issues w the dad so what else is he worried about?

I do agree w the other comments tho, I mean the moment he pulled that gun out I was like oh this gon be toxic and freaky as hell. They had good rough sex but they had really bad, noncon, rough sex too and it was just portrayed as smth “good” because Yujin was a sex addict. The worst should have always been expected tbh because; 1) the cover; and 2) knowing Aaron’s personality. It wasn’t wishful thinking to think they would have lived happily ever, they were almost there, unfortunately, but it was more realistic that they have more problems within their relationship. Valid to drop for others but I’m sticking around cos I’m pretty invested now.

The art was breathtaking, I definitely preferred the watercolor-y art style at the beginning but even the present dance sequences were very beautiful with the new art style. This is a very happy, wholesome, light-hearted manhua, almost to a fault ngl. It doesn't really dwell on the the reality of the world too much for the main characters like it was too easy and unproblematic for them to get where they wanted to be even if they were presented obstacles--like it was brought up in 1-2 chapters then boom resolved; but this doesn't ring true for the side couples lol.

Ofc that's not bad, this is just how the atmosphere of the manhua was meant to be and it's very low cortisol, if you will. This would be a very good cool down read from an insanely toxic dark romance comic xD Like let's be honest, if we could, we would also want a pure, long-lasting love like Bai Jinyi and Jiang Shen and can I just say I really liked how they met as kids. It's not really anything different, but it's the fact that we basically grew up with them and since you see how their for affectipm for each other grows, all u want to do is just support them and hope for the best. This goes for the side characters that they grew up with in the village btw. Everyone was well-rounded and had some sort of story or characterization to them, not just some background characters that would have been forgotten after a few chapters. The only one that wasn't really seen much or felt flat was Shubao.

As for the side couples, I liked the 2nd one mb I forgot the names already, those 2 actually presented realistic problems in life when it comes to your career and a gay relationship. As for the 3rd one, it didn't pass the vibe honestly. Like yeah 1st master cares for him, but does that really means he loves 2nd master? Idk it's also possible there was some nuance that wasn't translated well between the two so it just doesn't make sense to me.

Anyway, overall a good read, has a good, diverse cast, translation wasn't S-tier but it was enough to get most of the story across and still grateful there is at least a translation. Wholesome, light-hearted, and drama is to a minimum.

Alright, I'm a lil glad that I found this again while looking through the site's catalogue because I completely forgot about this esp after the site went down. I still had a bookmark down for chapter 96 but I don't remember anything anymore so I just had to reread it. Long ass review/opinion only because 3 couples were packed into this.

Boy, the rollercoaster of emotions I went through. First of all, I wanna say that this a pretty good read, but it gets predictable in a sense that there's a pattern of how things were gonna go, main couple was a bit more similar to the 3rd couple but obvi 3rd couple was not that heavy with the backstory and angst. But they do all have the same formula: have walls up, get someone to challenge those boundaries, fall in love with that person but have doubts about it for several chapters, make it hard both of yous and then finally end up together; I didn't hate it though but I did sometimes find myself crying in frustration because cmon man just let it go and be together. Needless to say, I think all of the couples had very different, valid feelings and misunderstandings that were very in tune with their character. Even if the formula was reused for the most part, it was acceptable albeit being a bit boring and predictable. The pacing wasn't shitty either in my opinion, but I've always had concerns about them randomly just falling in love tho and with no apparent reason too, but tbf that happens irl too, I know that happens to me sometimes.

Now for the characters themselves. I don't think I vehemently hated any of the characters, but Seok highkey crazy as hell and a bit too overprotective. He was also weird with Kiwoon sometimes before they even got together idk how that shit was just kinda ignored by Kiwoon. That being said I don't really hate them as a couple though, they're lowkey the light-hearted one only because they're together for most of the manhwa.

As for Hyun, I didn't hate him either but he was definitely a pos and he made it hard for both Kiwoon and Jaeha, more so for Jaeha. I get what some of these comments mean about Kiwoon acting like a victim when Jaeha is literally a victim of DV but Kiwoon is also human. Jaeha heavily needed professional help and Kiwoon was none of that but he tried his best even if it meant. Jaeha's problems were too heavy for a normal person or friend to take in consistently. In the end Kiwoom was already traumatized and I genuinely do not know why a fight broke out aside from Kiwoon misunderstanding the situation but at the end of the day this was Hyun's fault. He was selfish and he knew both sides of the story but decided not to say anything for his selfish reasons that brought unnecessary trauma and misunderstanding between Kiwoon and Jaeha. Hyun obviously tried to make up for it idk if he should have gotten that light of a pardon from the two of them, but honestly I'm just happy someone did take care of Jaeha he deserves it; if you're not super into heavy angst or heavy self-doubt it might be hard to get through season 2, only because Jaeha has so much of that, glad to see he seems to be doing better in season 3.

As for Seungha, it felt weird he liked Kiwoon LMFAO like weird in a neutral way but that kinda put me off ig. I was thinking damn this dude is just giving out therapy for free I'm sure he has something to gain from this right? I just didn't expect it to be for Kiwoon lol. But that doesn't change the fact he is the most level-headed character out of all of them. And because he was so level-headed and tried to be so rational and pragmatic about life, he was actually the most frustrating one to read about because he's overthinking too much but I also get where he's coming but also stop? lowkey like Seungha fr. I have nothing bad to say about Seol-han though

I came here from ig tbh and I saw the 2 grown adults interacting with sexual tension, but I was immediately dismayed when they weren't actually the center of attention in this webtoon. I refuse to acknowledge they are a side couple because that would mean there is a main couple and that main couple is big bro and potato, HELL NAH. I've actually already read this before and I stopped when I felt some weird tension between big bro wolf and potato. In animal form, I think it would be a little more excusable, but just human form is not it. I know the author is not claiming this to be a BL, but genuinely that is just a technicality, the fanservice-y chapters prove otherwise though and it's gradually getting more blatant and suggestive as I progress through the webtoon (currently at chapter 116); 1 example is the genderbend where girl!potato wants them to be more than a family. Like idc if that's fanservice that's lowkey how you want your readers to feel about their relationship. Since this webtoon is written in a 19 days-esque way as well, it really blurs the line between fanservice and the "plot," which is why these fanservice chapters are kind of blurring into the "main" story and making it harder for me to stick out for THE couple (because of how the author represents them to us).

Anyway lowkey a coke rant it's not that serious, but this genuinely could have just been a cute slice of life between adoptive father and son + a gay couple but it isn't. I may have to semi-drop this for the mean time to push through for the couple or just drop it altogether. It's a shame the art is cute and all, the story is fine too. I would like to just skip all the chapters w/o the mcs in it + the fanservice chapters but obviously I can't do that for the most part.

crystalvmin created a topic of Robber x lover

Dropping this at chapter 36. Idk I think it can be mostly attributed to me being older now, but I'm not sure if even my 17-year old self would have eaten this up. I don't hate fluff at all, but I think the art was too distracting for me and all of them were lowkey too dorky and cringe; more so the main couple, ntm on Hyunee though. I had to drag myself through the first 10 chapters to even get a chuckle out, it did start to be less cringe, and then it started to be cringe again so I'm just stopping now.

This is not to say that this is bad, I know people enjoy this, but it's like a manhwa you would have had to have read as a kid to still appreciate it once you're older or idk maybe you just have to be happy in life. Objectively speaking, the mcs have their own flaws and are a bit complex, but they do communicate properly and they don't let the misunderstanding sit for too long. Ji Ho lowkey a loser before this point and thank god Hyunee checked his ass 'cos he was fucking with Dojin's head which was not cool, but glad he stepped up though. I get that Ji Ho has gay trauma from confessing to his friend and all that, but how he handled allat was genuinely just weird--not in a bad way--just weird. It's like you wouldn't think of doing that but he's dumb for the plot if that makes any sense idk man.

Anyway, I would have liked to see this through to form a more solid opinion about this but can't work through the cringe sorry. But if you're a cutesy fluff to the max person, then this is probably for you.

I'm glad I read this during a time I was emotional and unstable af cos it wouldn't have hit the same if I were normal lmfao. I was balling my eyes out because the angst juat hit where it hurts. The story's pacing I think was overall pretty good especially for a very dramatic plot line but it did feel a bit draggy sometimes, especially with the few flashbacks the next chapter. Despite that, it really complimented the vibe of the panels/scenes that the author drew, like I felt crazy because it was like I was watching a movie with how articulated and detailed the panels were. I just loved how everything was expressed through the art and the rendering was really good too.

Also, probably just me but the present size diff between yoonsung and hakyung didn't seem too big, why was yoonsung suddenly so buff and big during the sex scenes/latter half of the manhwa but that might just be me.

The only thing that really pmo is the family being dumb blaming everything on hakyung like they weren't the ones that told him to lie about everything TT bro just needed money and, in the process, fell in love; but ofc the story would end quickly w/o the drama xD

Bro keeps complaining about being a dumbass but still continues to be a dumbass... leave him or leave us out of it (yh just give jaehee to us u damn abuser ;;;)

I remembered reading this a few years back and waiting for updates but I stopped reading bl completely, but recently while checking my lists I found this has been completed and I obliged; I was super curious too because the reviews show that most people didn't like it and like always, it just shows that people don't appreciate dark, psychological BL enough even when they're properly made. The last time I read it, I remembered it being fire AND IT STILL IS. Idk why people are so pooped by the ending, it's not even bad? Was it the most groundbreaking ending in the world? No, I had a hunch after Noah confessed he was posessing a body to Dylan, lil bro was too obsessed with Noah because of the stockholm syndrome. BUT it's an ending befiting a dark, psychological body of work did y'all really think they would have a happy ending? The only comments I have is that I missed the S1 art style it was so cute and unique + would have liked there to be a more ominous build up to him getting locked up, but the way the author did it was still fine it's like those scenes wherein you don't expect the character would be hit by this so on and so forth.

Anyway, fire smut, fire angst, fire romance, this is still BL, I enjoyed it very much.
