Fully shamelessly agree with all these comments about being hooked to this one. I'm baffled at my own self for following it so attentively. Mr. Jang and his reluctant feral pet cat are just very well written characters. Violence and abuse land as such, there's never a attempt from the authors to mask it as "you're so hot I can't hold back" or any of the ubiquitous bullshit we're so used to. I wholeheartedly believe these are two mentally ill people, desperately clawing and bleeding to hold the sliver of comfort they accidentally found in each other. It's brutal and unsatisfying, I can't help coming up with options for both to reach a healthy conclusion as I watch them choose to sink deeper into their misery because their trauma can't let them function beyond this tiny sadomasochistic respite of a relationship.
This is a harsh letdown. In the animated version of today's most recent manhwa chapter (thank you, Vivarium!), during the scene where Doc is listening to Master Woo facing the opposite way, we get to confirm that vampires do have supernatural healing. Doc did effortlessly stand up and walked away all peachy from getting his ass beat but the scratches on his face shrink and completely fade away while silently receiving advice to drop Mignon. It's a cool little detail that only appears twice (again in ch12) so leaving it out takes a lot away from the already barebones storytelling.
I've hoarded SO MUCH doujinshi related to this series my headcanon is solidified and Wayama sensei's final chapter is merely a suggestion. I really hope she has a long, successful career so her characters continue to grow in a shared universe.

Yeah it's a samsung galaxy something, there are 2 ways to translate text in images with the pen. There is a "translate" option that can be configured to work with either the samsung dictionary or google. You need to point the pen at each sentence one at the time so it's time consuming but pretty accurate. The other way is to create an "ai selection" including the whole page and then run it through the ai's own translator that uses god knows what dictionary because it always spits out an incoherent incomprehensible mess. All the text on screen gets translated in one go so it would be super convenient but it just suuucks at interpreting. Maybe the pen's software/app works the same when bough separately for a model that doesn't include it, or there might be a way to "touch and translate"? Sorry I'm way too ignorant about these things

I don't think there are "trans" terms in omegaverse, at least so far. Takatora was raised as Alpha since birth, but when he turned out to be omega, he had a hard time accepting it. To me, this manga is more feminist than anything else. Here, omega disposition was taken as a metaphor for women in real life hardships in men dominated world. If you read it carefully, you will find so many real-life issues that women are fighting for. From social expectation to safety at workspace to childbirth right.

I think a Trans reading is valid, but most of the reasons mc rejects being an omega are tied to the oppression they faced so it's hard to tell if it's that or dysphoria. If omega weren't opressed would he be against being one? Pretty interesting either way

Also, Takatora was socialized as an alpha early on, so the internalized struggle with his actual secondary gender seems to stem from the expectation he'd actually become one (besides the treatment by the sexist alphaist world) instead of secondary gender dysphoria due to just being born this way.
Very true, I do find it interesting though that regardless he still has attraction to omegas only and seems to affirm himself through being the "dominant/alpha" adjacent role he has in his relationships. I do wonder if there is some dysphoria that does happen if he feels omega-like in a relationship. I think that would be the biggest clue as that is his private life where people have the least influence on and yet he still does have heavy emotional feelings of being anything but the "alpha" despite his assigned omegaverse gender. His attachment to gender binaries (nuclear family fixation) could be read either as a desperate way of passing as alpha or not wanting to conform to his discriminated gender. Whichever it is, very cool to see haha (sorry for the rant)
No, it's not a rant, it's very well structured and what you're saying is correct, there are layers to Takatora's gender identity issues, both external and probably internal, so it's not as easy to exclude the possibility he might be trans secondary gender as well. One would have to test it by excluding all external factors pushing him to perform and present alpha like secondary gender expectations towards him, sexism against omegas, and his own alpha expectant upbringing, to try and peel off more layers to get to his core. And maybe, at his core, he might as well not be and feel like an omega, so the fact he manifested into one must've been absolute body horror for him, pushing him to affirm his own true self by adhering to a traditional alpha role as it's the one most widely accepted and recognized in omegaverse society. That's his own gender reaffirming care in a way. Or he might as well be an omega, but one who doesn't want to perform omega gender roles. In that aspect, we have to take into consideration that same secondary sex attraction is yet another societally judged and probably punished relationship, so maybe Takatora has internalized that as well, feeling like he can only like other omegas when he himself performs the alpha role. Kinda like how ignorant people ask who the man or woman is in a same sex relationship lol, so Takatora, in a way, is placing that gender role binary onto his own relationships. He's a very interesting character to dissect overall, there's no right answer tbh.

Takatora is a well written character to me at least because of the nuances in his gender performance. (Unfortunately he himself feels very unreliable, so who knows what he actually feels internally). I really appreciate your thoughts! As you said there isn't a right answer unless the author explores his psyche and the hypothetical youve mentioned. It's so hard to navigate because IRL, transness especially FTM is dismissed because of the idea that "women only want to become men because they want to escape misogyny" and maybe it's wishful thinking to hope the author addresses this aspect of him in some way that touches upon this intersection of misogyny tying into Trans experiences!
