Kaiden Lam was the illegitimate son of the king of Lionel , his mother was a barbarian slave ( kidnapped from her land ) . When he was a kid he was brought to the palace only to be tormented by his half brothers he was beaten insulted for not carrying the Lionel surname but Lam ( his mother’s surname) . The only one protected him and considered him family was his half sister Edith .
When he was 7 , princess Edith was to marry The Ventrum emperor ( political hostage) . Once the emperor saw kaiden with Edith and didn’t bother to hide the look of contempt to a bastard barbarian ( fuck you emperor) . Anyway before her wedding he was beaten by the first prince- Edith shielded him and promised once her situation settled she’ll invite him to the empire .
When kaiden was 13 - the first prince became king and sent assassins to eliminate his half brother who showed strength with the sword . Kaiden was chased and somehow the assassins following him stopped when they encountered a red haired person. Kyla killed the assassins simply because they disturbed her nap. She then told kaiden to run , he was surprised when he heard her real voice that she was a woman because with her tall lean build he thought she was a man .
Anyway she asked if he wanted to live he said yes and cried.she decided to agree to his request of taking him to Barbarian lands - they spent days together she told him not to tell her his name / he liked how she took care of him throughout their journey until one night Ian came ( Ian is 3 yrs younger than kyla) . He saw them kissing and how they were comfortable with each other kaiden experienced jealousy and his stomach hurt when she said she considers marrying Ian
. Kyla kept calling him KID/ Brat - he said he was 13 she was shocked she thought he was 7 ( thin malnourished) anyway when they nearly reached their destination they were attacked by 30+ assassins. She killed them - when it was time to say goodbye he clung to her waist and cried saying she should take responsibility for him that when she saved his life now his life belongs to her - she said she can’t allow him to follow her life cause she didn’t want him to be an assassin like her . He said he didn’t care she told him to live till the end and to reach high and become strong to protect not to kill . He kept following her so she knocked him out and carried him to the entrance.
13 to 16 yrs he managed to survive in barbarian lands at 17 he decided to leave then he became a mercenary and when he was strong enough he went to the Lionel kingdom and conquered it and he became a young king at the age of 20/21

Edwin and Emilia are related to Kaiden — they are his nephew and niece - the last two people who share his blood — rumors about his state that he was a born commoner who staged a rebellion and took down the Lionel Kingdom but he is actually The king’s son from a tribal slave dancer - and his half sister Princess Edith was the only person that was good to him .
I’m not complaining about the romance cause I knewwww from the start that she’s going to end up with the ml and he deserves someone special BUT the way it’s executed is a bit lacking Idk it feels rushed like suddenly he’s in love with her- yeah I know sometimes people fall for no big reasons but I just don’t feel it like him admitting that because she looked good in black at the banquet- I wish it was as slow burn between them yk with the confusion and all not just because Lionnia has been brainwashing them about being in a relationship- as I said I don’t Mind the ROMANCE I just wished for a better execution that will make me giggle and blush when they look at each other
The emperor as usual is a piece of I hope I’m misunderstanding his intentions but so far whenever he gets screen time I just role my eyes- this trash only married the 3rd consort as a tool to control the west but she died after giving birth to Emilia so he discarded the children cause they aren’t useful tools - he’ll let Edwin join the training- he and Jerome will plan to strengthen him to become a shield to their chosen Heir Prince Adrian they want to use Edwin that’s why Rachel will reject Jerome when he offers to become the sword instructor and then this petty guy will retaliate by doubling the training so Edwin suffers - the emperor doesn’t even know who Emilia is and then when he remembered he referred to her as Edwin’s sister not my daughter I just DISLIKE him - he KNOWS that the second consort and her son harass Edwin but he just watches cause worthless tool don’t matter if they can’t be used for his empire and he’s actually proud that he took the throne after killing his siblings because they were just living livestocks as he referred. Anyway I just hate him
Whenever there’s a brother who’s obsessed with his SISTER like the fool here who thinks he owns her I feel DISGUSTED honestly it’s a reason for me to stop reading cause I only have brothers and imagining them being obsessed with me will genuinely freak me out and just thinking about it is uncomfortable like ewwww-and this weirdo is openly showing his obsession like brother pls get lost
I just couldn’t stop myself from reading chapters after chapters now I’m left with nothing but painful waiting
This kept bugging me since the early chapters i seriously get annoyed with her constant change of hair length- see in the beginning it was like covering her ass and in the last panel it was till her thighs- i know it’s a silly thing to say but it confuses my eyes sometimes it’s shoulder length then bam it’s waist length
I know it’s said before but god that body is too much just look at her legs they’re literally sticks i know it’s just a story but would it harm anyone if she at least looked athletic?! - like come on a true swordsman body is Asha Pervaz with her muscles and scars . How can she strike monsters with that arm !
Yk the whole sleeping next to a Man is really weird yeah he’s in a child’s body but he’s a Man he’ll be turning 18 soon - I wonder howHaley will react and I’m really curious how the emperor will explain things
As someone who neeeds to know things I went searching for spoilers since I couldn’t find the novel and I’m satisfied like I’m no rush now for updates cause I sorta know the big events anyway so spoiler

So Eve is daughter of the previous emperor the one our current emperor killed before ascending the throne So Evie and Eve are cousins- spoilers said that Eve is such a brat after the revelation that she’s the “daughter “ - Evie ( infant) was taken away by a maid before Lilian was killed but the maid was attacked by wolves or something while running and she lost the child then she felt guilty so she went back and brought a fake dead baby anyway the maid became crazy after the event— the reason why Evie’s imperial mark is hidden is something Lilian did - so when Siren kidnaps the kids Evie’s power manifested completely to protect her until daddy arrives and that’s when she finally CRIES she’ll show the emperor her mark
I first liked her for being strong but she’s turning into a pathetic fl so she marries a guy who roamed the battlefield with monikers related to death and now she’s surprised he has a cruel side what did she honestly expect!!!! How did she expect him to rule such a domain if he’ll turn a blind eye to his vassals transgressions- oh Victor is cruel who did I marry blah blah blah she should’ve married a priest if she expects saintly behavior

This guy obviously likes her it was obvious how he kept trying to interact with her / then the dramatic scene of him running behind the carriage while she was leaving and now he enlists to follow her I hope he’s not bad cause i like him a bit — the ml needs someone to tone him down like he clearly is playing with her just to get a reaction

I’m not familiar with “gaming terminology “ but what is Yuhan’s role ?? Like everyone is fighting while he just stands there waving his flag and giving orders ? - can anyone explain cause I’m not seeing him as important like the others can definitely strategize and fight for example park siwoo - idk I feel like imagine if you were in a battle and in action and someone keeps screaming orders at you
