Same here! Usually it disrupts the flow of the main couple but I like them!
Everything about this story is so morally obtuse and perverse, from the eight year old looking bottom to the multiple rapes to the rapists just sort of being accepted by everyone else. The literally only sane character is the one with the long hair and even he chose to ignore the abuse. People may think it's adorable because of the art and some tender moments but it's all a facade distracting from the horrible story.
The stories aren't anything that special but they're not trashy or offensive enough for a 7.7. The art is decent and the characters are kinda likeable, that alone usually carries stories to an 8.5, but for some reason not this one
I'm not someone who thinks you shouldn't write about rape. And this author put some thought into the depiction. Just not enough. It felt sloppy and the smut scene shortly after I think really shows their intentions. Stories that have rape trauma being healed through sex just destroy what credibility they could've had.
It's your standard shonen ai, dainty bottoms, tough tops, a dash of uncomfortable weirdness, and you'll probably forget it in about a week
I don't really care what the backstory is. That was fucked up. Pressing your lover to separate from one of his only emotional support pillars only to not even be able to comfort him with even basic platitudes is fucked up. I'm sure there will be a ten chapter backstory but she won't get any pity from me. If she expects him to ignore his trauma to cut off one of the most important people in his life, it's fair for us to ignore her trauma (which won't probably involve gangrape) and be upset with her.
Just something about the bottoms design screams "gremlin"
