So this manga is old old old. I think it’s probably a series of short story (maybe 10%) but story explores a girl tries to explore her sexuality. But there is this part about the story involves about a twin. One of them was surprised when finding out his other twin is gay (kinda caught them kissing his classmate) and then there is this tutor that is lowkey evil and teased him if he was also being gay (since his other twin is gay) and baits him to do various lewd act i.e wear the uniform. They then went to the movie theatre & the tutor touched him inappropriately. Please it’s so erotic and lewd in the best way possible. Any one, helpppppp

And in that moment, Garam realised how brutal and ugly the world of men function because what do you mean you can only choose between a deception (a dishonest apology) or love bombing (let’s get waffle and kiss!!!!). I like that the author gives Garam that soft dominance power because instead of lashing out and being violent like Heejae and everyone else, he just get reallyyyy quiet and throws few words around and got everyone tiptoe and walk on eggshell around him like Kathy, Eva & Heejae - literally gagged & stunned.. The whole chapter of them having the illusion of peace together is really a ticking bomb lmaoooo.

But it could also be worse because he can become very explosive (in the past with Kruger chair) or self destructive and shut down everyone until it gets right for him ( image of flowers blooming when Heejae gave him the no.2) and now it slowly withers….. I’m leaning towards the idea that he will get himself a short separation period with Heejae so both can sort out how they view relationship forward. Heejae, you fuck up big big time man. We cannot kiss and having waffle as a way out （/TДT)/

I know everyone (incl. myself) is praising Garam for being a saint and saviour and all that but I also wanna point out that his natural instinct to be kind, selfless is not particularly because he is nice himself, it’s also contributed majorly due to his upbringing as well. We’re talking average low-middle class family at best with extremely traditional values. Prior to the whole ordeal & being swept off his feet to America, he was just a very shy timid kid and if you know anything about the Korean/Asian parents in general abt their view on artistic pursuit (there is one extra chap when it’s mentioned the Garam family atmosphere is only nice as long no discussion abt piano involves), I don’t think it helps his self esteem at all. Yeah, it keeps him grounded but also turns him into this rather socially inept dude - No social life, no dating experience or whatsoever. Hell, how do you even remember your sister comment about your dick being tiny like?

If we call Heejea is emotional constipated, Garam definitely is emotional immature. As in he really doesn’t get his emotions exercise in any way at all. If you follow from beginning, you’ve seen his default coping mechanism is to silently endure it and walk away. I.e. when he felt he wasn’t being appreciated enough by Younjo during the university festival, walk away. When he saw Heejea was being super lovey-dovey with Clarin, walk away. Even now during this act where he should be more upfront with Heejae, he was unable to express his feelings. Garam’s dilemma because he also knew for a fact while he’s very against Heejae’s methods, like against the system but also benefiting a great deal from it, hence his frustration got him even worse because it’s difficult to be righteous but also no will power to speak (never learn properly anw) when it’s needed. In this case, fight back with Heejae.

That’s why for me his whole arc with Kruger & esp Compton makes a lots of sense for his mentality, particularly his acceptance and tolerance for their behaviour. His kindness act towards them was in a way served as penitence and comfort on behalf of Heejae, similar a big brother consoling the young one for their bad parent's habits. I also find it super endearing that he at least got Kathy as a college or friend to have another voice or opinion whenever he felt stuck. Literally my precious baby don’t get any others friend or same age to talk to. BDK writing here on the imbalanced power dynamics and codependency is so good people forget dude is literally a clueless 20 y.o, have almost zero social skills in & don’t even speak the language when he first arrived. I can’t possibly imagine the loneliness and homesick he must have felt and Heejea obviously didn’t help at all T____T.

Anw, now that we came to this arc, hopefully we will get to experience their relationship and struggle as it is, which im sure BDK will throw me into hell. Versus the last 4 season, when it’s all kinda view via others characters. My own preferred endings (for now a happy ending) would be they will be married. Heejae perhaps stepped down from the maestro titles (not after he composes a fuck tona of song for his obvious muse) and Garam would got the title and perform his special night “No more Eurydice”. I’m saying this because hopefully there is parallel to his school night music “Orpheus night” and it never happened due to the accident so this special night with both of them performing it together hehe.

I like that we won’t be able to see Garam face in these chapters because we are kinda seeing it from Comton’s POV. Compton was, is and will always be that kid, stuck in his teenager years, desperate for Heejae’s respect and acknowledgment.

Garam himself, to Compton is a big puzzle that he is unable to fathom or process as how can somebody not only manage to tackle Heejae successfully (professionally; got approval of his own rendition of Rachmaninoff) but also defeat that whole ideal about “Heejae is only in it for music”. Heejae is in fact, only in it for the music BUT he is also capable of love, comfort and most importantly, forming a soul mate level of relationship with others (And it’s not him).

So he sees Garam, but kinda not see him in a way. Hence why Garam face is always covered in those water lilies because hatred is the closest thing he can link to the professor and Garam sort of represents that (only half of the truth). He clung to that last rope because if he wasn’t a Heejae hatred, what else could you also be? That explains why even when he has achieved and reached that level of heavenly music, it still wasn’t enough for him because it wasn’t the music itself that he wants, he wants the version of Heejae likes instead. I feel really bad for Compton as having this sort of trauma or experience at the early age really shaped and solidified your perspective as a person into adulthood as well. Like he has the worst case of identity crisis among the rest of the students.

I like that stark contrast between Compton & Garam and the reason why their relationship didn't click as much as Compton wanted cos compared to Yongjo, Naeun, Yerim and Kruger - while yes, they were initially bonded by the trauma & the pain, he essentially got to witness a different version of themselves- whether it’s be sad, happy, vulnerable, etc vs Compton for 90% the time is hatred. In Garam’s interpretation, yeah, I see how the professor cruelty done to you and your wounds, but what’s else. There must be more of you to the world but Heejae’s shadow is overarching and there’s very little of you left. Hence he couldn’t “fix” Compton the way he did to others because he didn’t want to open to Garam at all. Literally there is no self identity but Heejae in Compton as a person. Worse, that version of Heejae is also very outdated and not what Garam got to experience too. That’s why in the early chapter he clashed so bad with Clarin because he is desperate to show that is a tender side of Heejae to the world as much as Heejae wants to expose Garam greatness to the music scene.

Anw, you will see that in chapter 200-204, Compton finally has a proper conversation with Heejae and Garam. His redeeming arc for me is quite sad and honestly it’s just a start of his journey to recovery because he still believes Heejae is only in for the music (hopefully just a mistake of mtl). The departing scene of them in the airport is really touching too. Kinda reminds me of that last battle of Narusasu when Sasuke finally admitted defeat lmaoo. And obviously, he hugs Garam again and agrees that he’s lost. Heejae is seething lmaooo. Compton can be such a kid sometimes. And yes, this is my daily 2’ of Compton pity party

Damn, Heejae’s look of disdain and disappointment is a cherry on top of the cake. Sorry Compton, it’s about time you take a step back and had some self contemplation and shit.

Oh btw, Eva, my son is not growing colder. He has always been cold. People don’t see what Heejae & Garam has in common that both of them has very low tolerance to nonsensical bullshit. He stood up to himself with Naeun, with the bodyguard. He didn't bother to listen to Youngjo’s explanation/ apology. He even decided to walked away if the professor wasn’t being truthful to his feeling in the Kruger act. He has a very clear boundary for himself and others as well. He’s willing to understand but he won’t put up when you behave like this. Honestly, his relationship with Compton progresses to where it is now because he is being himself, had he been another like the orchestra member or Heejae, he wouldn’t get the same amount of respect & acknowledgment from everyone else.

Ok to the people said Garam betrayal is bad, etc etc I just wanna say Compton got a really bad anger management issues. If you remember few chapters back when Garam confronted Compton about his teaching method was very Kim Heejae alike and he already got so gungho and grabbed Garam’s coat to deny it. He is not level headed enough to have a proper conversation or discussion at all and would probably refuse any other method to pacify the situation. Have you forgot the premise why Garam played in the orchestra in the first place? Compton pulled out Yerim and Kruger out for the exact same reason and he would have done the same thing if Garam was just another Heejae hatred metamorphosis? So it makes sense for Garam to pulled a lil show so he could play in the freaking orchestra and got a long with his teacher. Again, he wasn’t being unfaithful to Compton at all, he still cared and acknowledged Compton guidance and very much appreciated that Compton was the conductor that helped to recognise and bring out his sensitive sound. Garam did the best he could for both Compton and Heejae and yes, himself too. There’s no other way at this stage of the story and you would have done the same if you were in his shoes. Don’t slander my sonnnnnnn.

P/s: People, nothing is wrong with Garam's hands. He's trembling because it's the mental war before the big thing. This is his first official play with the orchestra;literally first public presence to share his Rachmaninoff sounds , in front of the maestro (his husband). Obviously he will be restless and shaking. Couple with the fact Compton ass didn't help much cos he gave my son NO personal space, didnt bother to ask for the food preferences and the freaking necklace comrade shit. My son might as well do the communist parade while it's at it too like????? Let him rest OMG.
