I wouldn’t even be surprised if this manhwa suddenly had an ABO trope.
Like man... how the hell can you smell the scent of the water coming from Yuri’s body?! And I just remembered that early on, when Yuri and Xinlu were at the hotel and kissed for the first time, Yuri could smell a floral scent coming from Xinlu’s body too.
Getting straight to the point: in looking at this issue clinically: A single instance of attraction isn't a diagnosis of pedophilia. Clinical diagnosis (of pedophilic disorder specifically) requires recurrent, intense sexual urges/fantasies or behavior over a period of at least 6 months, and clinically significant distress or impairment, or the person having acted on the urges with a non-consenting person and Age gap alone isn't diagnostic criteria. The diagnostic frameworks look at the age/developmental stage of the person the attraction is directed toward, not the age gap between the two people.
Showing the DSM-5 Categorization of Pedophilia:
Pedophilic Disorder (DSM-5)
• Classified under paraphilic disorders
• 6 month period of recurrent, intense, sexually arousing fantasies, urges, or behaviors involving sexual activity with a prepubescent child (< 13)
• Has acted on these urges or they cause distress/interpersonal difficulty
• Age 16 or older and 5 years older than child
Due to now connected space we currently have, people are now aware to pedophilia resulting to numerous child sexual abuse results, the awareness of bad actions to others is a good thing and myst be encourage to bring in awareness. But also with the term now circling around, people have tendency to loosely use specific terms with categorization words that should not be thrown off so lightly. It is so-called SEMANTIC DIFFUSION or SEMANTIC BLEACHING — related but slightly different: a word loses its original intensity/specificity through overuse.
My whole point is we should never throw in words to lightly at heavy issues and crimes against humanity.
Lemme find it for y’all:
“Pedo” is an informal term for “pedophile” or “pedophilia.” It generally refers to someone who has SEXUAL attraction toward prepubescent children. The KEY element is SEXUAL attraction.
Simply caring for, admiring, or finding a child beautiful or cute, or having non-sexual affection for them, does NOT in itself mean someone is a pedophile.
And on top of that, you’re reading this story from YURI GABLE’S POV! You can judge for yourselves and see what actually happened if you genuinely read the manhwa properly. When Yuri said it, there was absolutely NO sexual attraction toward young Xinlu whatsoever.

A man who would accept you as you are, and give you love and care even without expecting anything in return. I WOULD KILL FOR A MAN LIKE DAT!

How can you equate a simple fascination with beauty with a sexual obsession? You guys are too bad at understanding Yuri's character. When Xinlu asked Yuri if he had ever experienced her first heartbreak with the adult Xinlu, he thought that the one who made his experience heartbreak for the first time was the boy he had saved even though Yuri had already had many relationships with women and the one who first made Yuri feel heartbroken was Xinlu "who was legal and an adult"
