Ugh those basic love triangle stories got nothing on this, the “us against the world” trope it’s actually so rare to find and this one it’s damn realistic, i actually love that they did not communicated this last chapter cause that’s so men like, most men genuinely don’t speak about their feelings easily, i know for sure that baekhee is getting raped and beaten up next chapter but I don’t agree with most about them being separated in the “present”(narration) time, there’s many moments he says “he told me he also felt that way” like they either got back together and had some sort of big talk about what happened to them, my theory is that we are either getting really close to the present time or they’ll separate for a long period and then meet again and talk it out

Overall this manga does more damage than good, overlooks a lot and does not does any justice to victims of SA, you can see author did for shock factor and only someone under 25yo would be shocked or see this at anything more than trauma porn. It’s not a bad story but it’s reasonable to say it’s trauma porn, the amount of rape/gangrape scenes it’s insane compared to “good” ones. Many times there was visible romanticism of said violence, dare I say some over empathetic speech with characters (such as Reider) who regardless of their traumatic past are, in the end, criminals and rapists but the story forces you to see them under some light of understanding. I believe it could have delivered the same feelings and idea without the non stop rape every chapter for almost 60 chapters, when they finally get together there’s no rewarding feeling for the reader or at least for me I felt nothing, genuinely the concept of sex in this story was so heavily desensitized that even the “loving” sex between them felt shallow and empty. More than that it just falls into the same trope of kid pimped by loan shark gets saved by his white knight (like Pearl Boy or Pawns Revenge) but this one it’s even more boring cause at least in others the tops were also messed up or had more balls, to actually have people groping your lover and raping him on a stall in front of you and saying “please refrain from this” it’s just nuts for me and I truly feel like this seme was pathetic. There’s much more sad and realistic stories out there similar to this that don’t need to glamourise disturbing stuff for shock value (check “Stigma”)

I think for a story with this level of depth, trauma and violence, the “funny” scenes should be removed cause why would you give us a few chapters of fluffy or Seunghyun with a dick head etc just to show stuff like this right after? It severely compromises the plot and tone of it all, I’m not saying people that went tru trauma can’t have fun but it doesn’t feel like a linear story, it feels odd and then the constant hiatus does not help too, I guess the author needs to take some time off to truly see where they wanna take this but I won’t be surprised if they keep dwelling on the same thing again and again considering in Pearl Boy Jooha lost his memories even, maybe cause these are popular comics they would rather just stuff it with bs to make more money instead of giving a medium sized decent story with a solid beginning mid and ending
