Idk how to feel about this chapter, Grayson clearly was by Dane and I knew it a scene were coming because everyone was spoiling in the comments however I feel it’s not taken seriously ?? I am not a novel reader and I don’t plan to read the novel so I’ll wait to see what will happen after but from what I saw Grayson’s emotions was expressed much more during this scene than in the manhwa. Also I feel like a lot of people here have a double standards?? Top ing bottom in BL is far too common and I think most of you are tired with it however since this is the opposite in this BL it’s taken differently ?
I completely agree. One of the things I hate about BL is the double standard when it comes to red flags. An omega/uke can behave horribly and people will bend over backwards to justify it, but let an alpha/seme do the exact same thing and suddenly everyone is calling them toxic and unforgivable.
A red flag is a red flag, regardless of their role or position. Dane is a red flag, period. If he were an alpha doing the exact same things, I highly doubt people would be romanticizing or celebrating his behavior the way they do.
What he did to Grayson was wrong. And the fact that Grayson had to explicitly say, “No. Not without my consent,” should tell people everything they need to know. Consent doesn't suddenly become irrelevant because the character is an omega, uke, or the one people are supposed to sympathize with. If the roles were reversed, people would absolutely be calling it out.
You can't excuse harmful behavior just because you like the character or because they fit a particular BL archetype. If we'd condemn it from one character, we should condemn it from the other too. The standards should be the same for everyone.

I don't think labeling someone's mental illness is necessarily doing a disservice to them. Yes mental illness does not define a person as a whole, but it does impact a person's life on a day to day basis. We need to destigmatize mental illness rather than treat the label as something bad. As someone who works directly with people who have mental illness, including BPD, I've found that for many people, the label gives them answers to behaviors they couldn't understand. It also allows them to get the correct type of treatment so they can better control their emotions. Especially people with BPD benefit from therapies like DBT. While reading this story, there was no doubt in my mind that Mokyeon has BPD. It's not like his diagnosis (if he had one) being BPD would mean that people with BPD are bad, but it does give an explanation for his behaviors and how they reflect untreated BPD. Furthermore, the manhwa being called borderline is...well it's a bit on the nose lol. Anyways this isn't to criticize OP but I wanted to reply with my thoughts on what the author is saying since this is the field I work in. Not that it's that serious since it's fiction but her perspective was interesting
I believe author meant that humans are much more complex to label them under a certain disorder, not that it's disrespectful or a disservice to put that label on them. And judging by their work, the author is clearly trying to give their characters a multidimensional personality, so giving them a certain label would go against that from a narrative perspective because readers would then translate each and every action a certain character makes to their associated complex. Kinda removes the unpredictability of the story and in the likelihood that this character deviates from that comlex' behavioral pattern the story would automatically be hammered with negative feedback.
Personally I agree with the author. I don't like seeing people justifying their daily and routinely actions with a certain disorder, and this has unfortunately become quite common in our society nowadays.

That's a fair interpretation. Although I didn't say anything about justifying behavior because of a disorder. Most people have control over their actions, including people with BPD. My point was that a diagnosis wouldn't mean that his behavior is justified. It would be an EXPLANATION for his behavior. Especially if he's untreated/undiagnosed. I also didn't disagree with humans being complex, but I do believe that a label doesn't negate that fact. Mental illnesses present differently in everybody. They share similar traits, but will still have very different reactions and behaviors. I disagree that a label takes away that complexity. In fact, it would be an interesting aspect to explore. To show unpredictability despite a label wouldn't necessarily be against the narrative. At the end of the day, people are going to headcanon what they want and I would still be inclined to diagnose mokyeon with BPD even if the author says what she says. That doesn't mean I expect every single behavior or decision to reflect someone with textbook BPD, and if that's what a reader takes away from it then that's on them. Neither her statements nor the people who believe he has BPD are necessarily in the wrong and at the end of the day it is just a story. I'm not trying to argue either, just analyzing.
If the author wanted to write smut every chapters can they at least write smut with the blondie and that’s it ? He looks so down bad for the MC and it can be more interesting and enjoyable than with these randoms and the old man lmao

Last time I read this BL it was in 2023 and I was around chapter 60 and I just come back to see that it’s still UNFINISHED ? not really complaining since I loved this one I am just quite surprised !

Unless she changed her mind. I still enjoy the sex scene and seeing how thing turn out compared to the first chapters are funny but yeah
Yeah we probably have roughly 10-ish chapters of development and for Nanjo pov too, considering there will probably be more smut before the end... I sure hope it's not rushed but I'm not holding my breath
