Wetsand is a poorly executed tragedy manhwa and nothing will change that. If Shitjoon was indeed supposed to be a HAPPY endgame with Ian, then he should have gotten MORE screentime than Jo which he did not, and he should have fucking redeemed himself which he did not. 2 decades and he’s on some “I want to go home,” “you scare me youngwoo.” What an abuser tactic an manchild behavior right there.

I love my endgame where one confessed with his eyes closed and the other does not return the confession. Let me also remind you guys that tj said that Ian could never look him in the eyes and lie so that’s something to keep you up at night. If you think that people who had issues for 2 decades will suddenly be fine without any proper conversation, acknowledgement, apology and redemption will be fine, then you gotta check yourself. Maybe that’s why Doyak didn’t add anything slightly romantic for them. It’s also so unnatural for tj to have his ring on his finger but we don’t see Ian wearing his once. Doyak definitely did some self-insert with Jo because they both have the same hobbies and all. Hiking, camping, they even have a dog. Jo opened the story and ended it, it’s so clear that he’s the main character. Love that for him tho, he’s so pretty, I wanna lick his gorgeous blue eyes.

For the so-called endgame, I can’t get over the fact that their last “sex” scene was them going at each other’s throats, then fucking in that nasty toilet after TJ rubbed his fingers around the toilet bowl and shoving it up Ian’s mouth, then Ian thinking about Jo while this whole uncomfortable shit was going down.
That was so uncomfortable to fucking watch, my days. I mean, yeah, if Tjian was actually the endgame, why frame the entire story around Joian? Why give them the whole angsty narrative and the best emotional anchor (ch 98)? For the endgame, we didn’t even have one reasonable conversation coming from them both? The ML never apologized; he never said that he was in love with Ian, which makes it so fucking empty. How do people enjoy this??
Also after the time skip, it was so eerie the way Ian had his eyes closed while saying he loves TJ. Why do that then have him cry and clutch his chest and tell Jo that he certainly loves him. I really had zero expectations for Jo in the epilogue because I was fully set to see Tjian finally have these uncomfortable conversations and for him to say “I love you” to Ian only for me to get half of the chapter dedicated to Jo. I’m not complaining, I took it, but this is also a story I invested in, so I also wanted to see TJ’s development as a person, and Tian's development as a couple and I got nothing.

Man, I’m back to mourning Ian. Like my baby did not deserve his ending. He never fully realized the extent of the abuse he went through. Wanting to do motocross in Malibu to having your ankle broken. Being sent to jail and riddled with debt so you can’t do any decent job. In the epilogue, he’s doing some blue-collar job, his dreams and aspirations out of the window.
This is such a horror story. As an Ian fan, it’s legit hurting my chest bro. We never saw how he concluded staying with TJ, we barely got his inner monologue. After chapter 98 everything just started to go downhill. My baby keeps molding the life he wishes to have. I can’t come to terms with this ending.
Wetsand has ended, but it doesn’t have to end for me so maybe, I’ll write a fan fiction of Ian going solo. Leaving TJ, leaving everything, and going to a totally different city where he finally rides that bike in a motocross.
