That mansion is on a Mountain, he goes to the mansion and the top is there to great him as the owner of the mansion but thats not his real body.
Mc snoops around to try and steal the thing and ends up finding a corpse thats equal in appearence to the owner of the mansion(top) and his presence revives(?) the corpse.
Top revived can turn into a snake so its implied hes a snake demon,spirit or god.
All of this(the man who comissioned the mc) was a set up for the mc to go to the mansion bc the top and mc have history in a previous life(reincarnation) .
