throughout the story i thought that the top was really dedicated to the bottom and only had eyes for him, but after that last chapter my perception of what was originally a sweet puppy-love story dissipated in an instant. I mean yea they weren't official so no 'obligations' but the story lost all its charm and im left with a bad aftertaste esp since top said "i was acc thinking of u while fucking another dude" same thing cheaters say to try to rectify their relationship...
and now im thinking about how bottom noticed top got better in bed despite his inexperience but he had no clue at the time that it was partially bc he slept with other guys.. haha. and the top said "i dont want to see anyone else"??? but failed to mention he already technically had?????? idk.. if i was the bottom, that alone, wouldve made me question the sincerity in his words and make me doubtful of the relationship entirely. the way he said it insinuated he hasnt and will not be seeing anyone and i would be shocked too (shocked is an understatement) if i learned it was a "lie" and he did in fact see someone else
I think they needed a separation because no one can save you besides yourself so i'm not complaining about the ending in that sense. BUT. nothing was resolved before leaving each other to work on themselves. Did Yoojoon know Jiho was being assaulted and was stuck in an abusive relationship? Did he know he has abandonment issues because of his dead mom and being abused by his dad? He did not understand the depth of Jiho's suffering and probably holds some resentment because he does not know. They probably have side stories lined up but it still pisses me off that authors use side stories to resolve issues brought over from the main story. What does side story mean to you?? I've never reacted so viscerally to a manhwa where my hands were shaking and i couldn't eat bc of the story contents. The poorly executed ending was the cherry on top to piss me off. I'm writing this long ahh paragraph just to cope with how much i'm tweaking right now.
i regret reading the novel ... it was just like reading a horror story where mc never escapes and is doomed forever. They "love" each other but it certainly doesnt feel that way.
detailed spoilers:
He feels resentful that his gift was only an afterthought from preparing wedding gifts and feels like a fool for thinking he meant more to the ML.
So, a few days before the ML's official wedding day, he plans an elaborate scheme to escape and lay low in a remote hut to hide out for a few months before planning to reuniting with his father (who will retreat to a country-side residence due to his declining health) away from the main house where the ML will live with his new wife, since he can't bear to stand the humiliation of being a toy to someone he loves who 'does not love him back'. He spikes the meal of a servant ML brought to monitor MC with the help of his attendant and slips away without being caught. He runs away with his attendant, sells important belongings that could identify him, and disguises himself as a monk all in order to shake off trail of ML, who after discovering his disappearance, personally searches for MC himself with bounty hunters. After almost getting caught but narrowly escaping, he set up a house in the mountains close to a village.
ML appears out of the blue and captures his attendant who went to the mountains to collect mushrooms and threatens him to expose MC's whereabouts. MC was not in the house at the time bc he was worriedly searching for the attendant when he did not return before sunset, and came back in time to witness the scene of ML interrogating his attendant. He attempts to run into the mountains to evade ML, but ML ofc notices and chases after him. He gets caught and dragged back to the mountain house where he gets thoroughly punished (18+). ML is super mad and threatens to lock up MC if he dares to run away again and forces MC to promise that he will stay forever with him. After punishment, ML promises that he will never get with anyone except MC bc he realized that MC loved him when he found a box hidden in MC's room containing documents that exposed ML's family was guilty of treason and were executed, which MC could have used to have ML be executed, but MC purposely did not betray ML despite "hating" him. ML thinks MC ran away to get the ML to call off the wedding to chase MC. MC reacted with "???"
They return back to the house where both get scolded by the father, ML gets scolded for calling off the wedding to search for MC and ruining potential boost of family standing, while MC gets scolded for running away without notice and not taking studies seriously.
ML appeases father's fury by promising that he will tutor MC to pass exams to be scholar in 3 years time and father agrees. After father leaves to the country-side, ML promises to MC that he will love him in place of MC's dead mother and father's absence and swears to become MC's right hand man so MC can be the household lead. ML allegedly becomes more gentle-- except for when he's tutoring-- towards MC. The end. (They don't depict much happy relationship stuff afterwards)
(sorry it's so long, hi if you read till the end)
The one key detail that leads me to believe Bada is not meant to be an NPC is that his love for horror/slasher content is his large defining characteristic. For an NPC who was not even originally supposed to partake in the main storyline(which is horror), it would make no sense for the author to flaunt that detail unless Bada is a key character in solving the story or they are foreshadowing that he is someone of higher importance, such as a game dev or beta tester
What if Bada became an NPC because he solved the story already and thats why playable characters are able to drag him back? Maybe this is meant to be a one time play through game, so since he’s restarted the game, it’s bugged and he’s unable to do what first time players are able to do, like kill the killer.
I am leaning towards him being the dev irl, but he developed himself as an NPC in the game as an easter egg. Devs do it all the time. So hes not able to leave per se, but he does exist irl. It would make for a bittersweet ending with Doha when he gets out, kinda like rekindle their love thrice over, this time with the real Bada.

his siblings are out to kill him and his uncle believes they would never do such a thing... i can already foresee the story being MC
going through nothing but hardship and suffering
Right (╯°Д °)╯╧╧ he already knew to side.
