This honestly feels like one of those wife-chasing crematorium danmeis (a.k.a stories where the top is a piece of shit that ends up regretting his actions and grovels to hell and back to the bottom), but i'm honestly just really curious about how this will end up tbh.
I'm just hoping that they won't axe this manga, a lot of good shoujo and josei stories have been axed despite the good reception and amazing premise. So please, i hope this manga gets to continue.
This honestly feels like a satire or a parody of those dark bl manhwas out there.
Or the author's just high who knows.
I see a lot of people saying that the second(?) part of the story has lost its charm, but honestly it's the opposite for me. I think got better tbh. And one of the biggest reasons is because the 2nd part shows us how our main protagonists are all flawed and layered characters.
Even reirin, in all her mary sue-ness, has her own fair share of flaws. They show her hesitating, having doubts, and do a lot of questionable choices and actions. She has fears about her poor health, and we get to see her weariness of it too. A lot of the attitude and personality of hers we see stems from all that.
I think one of her biggest flaws is her lack of self-awareness of how her intense care and kindness might look like to others. Especially to someone like keigetsu. Same thing for her recklessness.
As for our keigetsu, i think she's on her way to have character development. This is one of those stories where you need to wait after all, so i hope people have more patience for what's to come.
Of course, she has a lot to account for. Although i can understand where she's coming from, her background and experiences does not justify some of the things she's done. And i think keigetsu being the nervous, petty, insecure wreck that she currently is, is pretty realistic even if she has sort of changed compared to what she was from the start of the story. Keigetsu has a lot of things to heal from after all. She needs to deal with that first if she wants to improve.
Although i do wish that the story will focus more on her too. Maybe we'll see that in the next volume!
I still like the way this story managed to portray an isekai-ed/transmigrated person suddenly appearing and taking over a character, and how the people around them can see the change in behavior.
A lot of times in other stories, a transmigration does, in a way, steal that character's life and change it for better or worse. Usually the former happens, but if that transmigrated person ends up having a happy ending inside the body of that character, i do end up thinking "but what about the original soul of that character"? Sometimes it kind of feels like they were robbed of having a nice life.
And we get to observe the isekai/transmigration system from the point of view of outsiders too! It's nice to see how outlandish it looks like from the perspective of people who have no idea what video games even are XD
These children are basically all just bonding after meeting each other for the first time during their father's funeral wake and also in desperate need of therapy XD

I mean, she might not have just recognized tan, but girl just really pushed away the kid like that
It's really easy to brush some parts of the story like this the primary focus is on the mc, but tan has had a horrible life so far, with dying, your soul gets put into a dog's body, suddenly you're alive again, your family's all whack and cursed with emotional constipation, and then your comatose mother wakes up and pushes you away.
This story just keeps on giving me the best examples of "mc who thinks they're harmless but they're actually an eldritch being" trope. There's a gap in perception that is just executed very well.
I like how that gap gets addressed too, and the mc is becoming more self aware of the eldritchness now.

Reading the manhwa adaptation is a different experience from reading the novel, but it's still fun nonetheless!
If you're confused with some of the story, i recommend reading the novel too, alongside the manhwa. I think the manhwa also mentioned that they adjusted some details because it's a different medium after all.
The novel provides more details, and in some parts, you do kind of feel the immersion of reading a wiki entry directly. And the story plays around with fonts/font size/font color in a lot of creative ways too. Very effective in building suspense and tension in the story too. Like, i got jumpscared by words in large font size once XD
I'm only on chapter 1 and i like it so far!
I read the first few pages and immediately thought "oh they don't embalm their dead?"
Because it's one thing to fear someone coming back to life because "hey maybe the doctor just misdiagnosed?" And it's a very different kind of fear to see someone getting revived, but they've already been embalmed.
Like imagine getting the body embalmed, and suddenly she just wakes up. No organs and blood and all. Full of chemicals too.
So anyway, these were just some first impressions and thoughts.
