So early review ? At chap 5. I usually don't like extreme power imbalance between love interests so this whole ritual of total submission of the FL to the ML is a rough start already lmao. I don't care for the ML for now. I just hope the FL will show more personality ! You go girl bring those mfs down and pls FOCUS
I came back quickly but are we supposed to believe his proposal of being lovers in chap 7 wasn't kinda genuine he got rejected, after that his aide came and he said some bs like "i'm the son of the chancellor" ? Or maybe it's not him who said that but it was like...to reaffirm his status??. Lmao after that he goes to her to clear the "misunderstanding" by saying it's just part of the plan and that if he was fr it wouldn't be her i'm sorry guys but this is one of the most predicable thing a man could ever say after being rejected. Like instead of invading her private space, you could have just sat and laid down your plan like a normal person. Istg if a man i rejected ever came back with that speech i would just laugh out loud lmaoo and she was like "that's true, why would a man like him be interested in me anyway
Guys i swear i can't the ML is just too manipulative for my liking. His plan of using her for espionnage wasn't smart to begin with. He fish out a dying person from the river and bc they met like once, he decides to entrust her with finding confidential infos. Fine it's a plot device ok i get it. But then this man is like hmm lemme "enlighten" her by showing her how trash her fam us so that her foolish ass learns her lesson. Well mf this woman is DEPRESSED. Now she has suicidal thoughts yay bc he messed up, he will try to soothe her broken heart so that she is ever reliant on him and that's ladies and gentlemen the "romance" of this webtoon

Like FL literally puts a barrier up against him and tells him that she can't fully commit to a man who just sees her as property, especially after what she went through. For a good while their relationship is pretty much on a fuck buddy level, with uncertainty about whether or not FL would fully commit to him. Which ofc she did at the end bc shoujo logic, but its shown how he truly cares for her by sacrificing himself for her again and again. He'll end up being the moral opposite to a major demon dude that will later pop up, or at least that's my interpretation of him to at least make him more interesting as a fictional character.

But honestly you been through it already, don't force yourself to read it. Imo you're not missing out on anything that original. The revenge is satisfying and the characters aren't annoying but the end just kinda fizzles out too quickly, and there are a few holes in the narrative that make you wanna ask questions.
And tbh I didn't like how FL was basically at the mercy of another man yet again either. Later chapters kinda try to reassure you that FL is her own woman but at the end of the day everything she has is thanks to ML's generosity and care. This one isn't trying to be feminist or whatever, it's all about ML and FL going through it together despite a very ironic power difference.

This didn't need any romance. I really liked the first season. I started season 2 but i just can't continue with that jackass childhood friend guy and now that i look back, her relationship with the teacher feels iffy. It was wholesome but now that i know they are end game i'm just no longer interested. He is 16 years older than her, couldn't they just keep him as a father figure/mentor? He saw her for the first time when she was an elementary kid and he was a college student why ruin a good story like that... I'm not that even that bothered about age gaps if the story is good but nah i can't even defend this shit i've read maybe 40% of the story but i feel like the childhood friend guy should be treated like the vilain he is. I'm sorry but him and dara are just 2 sides of the same coin. He has a back story but who doesn't have a shit life in this webtoon lol. Girlie pop stopped hanging out with the only person having her best interests at heart.
