The fact that the side story is better than the original one kinda pisses me off...like,you mean to tell me the author could have chosen this route without all the unnecessary rape and didn't?
the act, the crime we abhor, yes - but ofc no one means that.
we mean as one of the tragedy elements for the story to set the mood for the story (rape, death, murder, torture, loss of a limb, loss of a sense, loss of a s/o, etc)
all of these are, by your definition, unnecessary. but then, nothing would ever happen in fiction ( ̄∇ ̄")
Again, rape will ALWAYS be unnecessary
EVEN in fiction...but ofc if it were a stranger that raped the MC you'd be singing a different tune
Death, losing a body part, murder, torture, when are these ever done by the main characters towards the love interest or vice versa and it's okay???
But I guess according to you it's okay because the love interest is good looking, the story is cute and it's fiction.
You can include those tragedies...but when the love interest/mc is the one whos supposed to be the other's "happy place/home" then it'll always be unnecessary.
It's true, the story is cute and adorable but the only reason I'm looking past the rape part and ANYONE should be looking past these things is because it is fiction.
Doesn't mean you get to excuse it ever
You can can literally, "this story was soo cute, I love it sm but the rape part was so offputting"
I was already put off when MC started bleeding and the LI didn't care, almost dropped it even.
Not to mention the story could've still survived if he didn't rape him, creativity is endless.
These things are just wayyy too normalised in this community
But I won't start something under someone else's thread, forgive me
i wouldnt be saying any differently if Euihyun were originally raped by a random 68yo mob, i repeat: it's the tragedy the author composed for the story, so it is necessary. it's not up to you, hun â•®( ̄▽ ̄)â•
when these atrocities are done to MC by the ML?
all. the. time, girl. never heard of dark romance??
just finished reading an update of one where the MC finally comes to terms that with his feelings for ML, who is the same guy who murdered and destroyed his entire village, including his MOTHER, then later MC even eats one of ML's fingers (he isnt human)
watching characters being betrayed then killed by loved ones; or just ppl getting murdered in general in movies all these years hasnt normalized murder for us (as we've seen from the shock from those ICE murders, for ex.)
Am I the only one who gets annoyed when the main couple shows up?Like, they were cute, but now that they're together I don't really care for them anymore and I'm just annoyed when their storyline suddenly interrupts what was going on with the 2nd couple.I know this story is mainly theirs so it's just right they get their moments but ugh,I just don't feel them anymore and I want to know what happens next with the secretary!I'm tired of seeing them going at it.Ya'll are obsesses with each other and like to fuck,we GET IT.Now can we move on ?
WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOUR ART IS LACKING AND YOU WANT TO TAKE TIME TO IMPROVE IT?GIRL.the art is literally one of the main reasons that kept me hooked. The micro expressions were SO good. There's a lot of stories out there where the characters are supposedly showing some kind of emotion but all I see is a blank face. And apart from that, these are one of the most gorgeous main leads I've ever seen,so don't even doubt yourself right now dear author

Damn,I just dont understand Mincheol's psychology.Like,I like a villain I can look at and think"oh,based on their life circumstances I can see why they would think that way,or why they acted that way".But with him I just don't get it.Like, what exactly is his thought process that he thinks that Na he soo dream life is working to the bone, living in a cramped room, having to take care of him and bear his emotional and physical abuse?I would get it if he was a psychotic narcissist ,but from the flashbacks we can see he was not,he was kind and thoughtful. And I get that people change, but I just don't get what could have happened to make him that delusional.Like, usually villains at least know they're being abusive and they make sure that their victims aren't able to run away or survive without them, but Mincheol is SO sure of Na he soo love without doing nothing to control her or to make her want to stay...like how does that even work. Was he betting on some sort of guilt from her part?Like he was sure she would not leave him cause she felt bad for something that happened in the past and he was able to turn it around to make is seem like it was her fault?IT WOULD BE THE ONLY EXPLANATION.And that would make sense if his only objective was to tie her to him.But he cheated and abandoned her,so again,I DONT GET WHY HE DOESNT EVEN THINK SHE WOULD NEVER LEAVE.I mean,it's one think for staying out of guilt,it's another if the person who tied you down is the one leaving
This is a real thing..
i heard once about a woman, her husband divorced her, thinking that this way she will feel like she cant live without him and that he is important
Ans when he found out she is working and living well, has a boyfriend, he got angry saying that she used him
This arrogant ppls minds work differently, they think the world revolves around them
I mean,I do get that some men think their woman wouldn't survive without them, but that's the thing with Mincheol and Na heeso.SHE WAS THE ONE TAKING CARE OF HIM.She was the one working to pay the bills and the debts, she was the one cleaning and cooking. So clearly she was able to take care of herself and he was the useless one. That's why I don't understand from where he takes his confidence from
what I understood about his 360 personality change.
-In high school, he was the most popular, intelligent and deeply admired by everyone in the school and old folks. Which it gave him a hero confidence.
-He considers himself the saviour to Haesoo, he took her away from an abusive household and decided to use his university savings to build a home with Haesoo together.
-He understimated adult life. He considered himself a hero and he thought that without studying and working hard will help both, but once the reality touched him, he became more bitter. There are moments he said when he was a teenager "I can do everything" but that was just his inner narcissim which was covered by heroism.
- Once poverty knocks the door, the love leaves
-He wanted a child with Haesoo, when he learned that Haesoo was unable to have kids because of her weak body, that was his ultimate breaking point. He resent her for everything he considered "a sacrifice".
I think the real problem about having kids was Mincheol, I'm almost sure he is infertile and not Haesoo, but he doesn't know.
-He considers himself special, because he has still the image of himself from highschool. He understimates constantly his coworkers, He thinks Haesoo is inferior and a dormant because she was bad at school, He thinks he is handsome because everyone told him.
-He thinks he's the only one that made sacrifices but Haesoo always worked and probably overworking made her body weaker. Haesoo
Mincheol is the withered flower.
He is a man.
The majority of men are like him. Nice on the surface to get the ladies they want, and later mistreat them.
He has always been selfish, and was attracted to Haesoo's beauty and poverty.
He knows that she is very beautiful and most men with money want her either physically or emotionally.
Think how he viewed her as a prostitute.
Prostitutes are unfortunately victims of sex trafficking or/and poverty.
Haesoo is extremely poor. So he bought her with nice words
He is a man. Typical of them
I also have the theory that minshit is the one who cannot have kids.
