So not only Ishimon outshined Gjord in the last 10-20 chapters with rescue mission and genuine care, but we still getting this emotionally charged conversation showing how much he worries for MC I just can’t, it’s like my brain refuses to accept we are having this with friend/servant and not so much with actual lover, while Gjord fumbled after reunion so bad.
Fr im sitting here confused that Ishimon is having such intimate talks with Sylhan about his condition and his past memories, while Gjord is off doing whatever else in the background (tho i'm sure it's important business). But because of his duties, Sylhan's care is then entrusted to his friends (Ishimon) who then takes on the caring and concerned role when Gjord could've been given this role too love ishimon tho
can’t even argue on this one. ishmon having more chemistry and intimate moments with sylhan than the actual sex scenes between him and gjord is not a good look. all gjord has done in his moments with sylhan is have sex and get jealous when there are bigger fish to fry

P.P.S Ahaha guys I just read chapter 85 from temple scans and Gjord is atrocious. Like this bitch does not care about Sylhan trauma at all. THE WAY he talks. You need to see this shit. He kept on asking specifically! about Lister in such disgusting and victim blaming manner what Sylhan couldn’t bring himself to confess to the person who supposedly does everything for him(as some fans saying). So since Gjord is not gone get character development, we can forget about Sylhan ever sharing his pain, I think.
P.P.P.S But also Ishimon and Sylhan scene is more gentle and touching than everything we had from Gjord so far. At this point I’m team Ishimon and I need Gjord idk to die or whatever, so Ishimon can take his place or smth
I read this since I was 16 and now I’m 26. It’s been 10 fucking years! And zero progress in main (if I dare to name it) couple. And here is the thing that amazes me, second couple changed drastically, like it actually became almost a couple with physical mutual relationship, now they’re are gonna live together and also Mo shows how he feels from time to time. So it’s not Chinese censorship fault, it’s not queer baiting as core principle of entire story. It’s something I have no idea what. Like it’s definitely not slow burn cause it’s been 10 fucking years, there is no fire. Author/team refuses to make them a couple. I thought that way 5 years ago and nothing changed. Except I thought with time I’ll understand why, but nope. I thought maybe they wanna milk this stuff forever for profit , so they decided to stall progress to keep ending far away and keep readers involved. That’s what I thought 5 years ago. But no, second couple progressed naturally.
I'm the same, been reading it for 10 years and back in, I think either 2022 or 2023 it was at its peak story wise. Drama, progress but then suddenly.. Nothing. Chapters got shorter, Jian Yi and Xixi were almost completely cut off from the story, Mo and He Tian always go one step forward two steps backward and there's no updates.. I check Old Xians Weibo (Chinese Twitter) every so often and from what I see there, I feel like she's not interested in the comic/story anymore and as you said.. Kind of milks it for commercial reasons. Don't know if it's true but it feels that way.

Is no one else gonna help Sylhan escape? Nobody was sent to help him and Ishimon half way? But why? In the castle obviously it must have been one person super careful operation. But why nobody meeting them now, they obviously need help and it was predictable? What the hell, Gjord?

Idk who is the main couple, if there is one. Beom Ran is the main character. The main plot revolves around him, he’s the first character we see, season end notice put emphasis on him and he&walnut at the front of cover right now. One could argue that Park started the main events by winning the bet, but it’s also happened only because of Ran intervention.
But anyway, I also love the him most. Hence more interested in him&walnut(also I like this first childhood love trope)
