Hey their boys and gals I’m recently on my period and for those of you gals what do you think of tampons? My virgin self can’t bring my self to use a tampon but I hate sitting in my own blood. Though I’ve tried to use a tampon but it hurt. And in general what do you think about periods.
***tampons > pads***
Menstrual cups and tampons are WAY MORE HYGENIC than pads
- pads: useful for sleeping but gets dirty and nasty during the day If it's the only thing you're using. Basically, you have to constantly change them or you start to sit in a diaper of fresh or dried blood, which is umcomfortable and inconvenient. I suggest using a thi...... 2 reply
I used pads when I first got my period and hated them as they felt like diapers. As I got older into my later teens I used Tampons as they were more comfortable for me and easier to deal with. However, I really stopped wanting to waste money on tampons as I have an irregular period and it has always been heavy so I go through a lot. In the past cou...... reply
For me, tampons only become uncomfortable if my flow isn't heavy enough. Try only using them during your heaviest flow days and start off with smaller ones and a panty liner. reply
I love seeing the environmentalists here. I switched to cloths pads that are much softer and more absorbent than the plastic ones and when I'm home I just toss them in the washing machine and presto they are clean and ready to go again. After reading about the diva cup though, I think I might try it, I have always been too nervous to try a tampon b...... reply
So far I've only ever used pads. Tampons are uncomfortable for a lot of people, only work when you've got a heavy flow and can get dangerous if the string breaks or you don't take it out within a certain amount of time. I don't get how cups work but they sound terrible. reply
Tampons are so annoying and uncomfortable. I tend to avoid them when possible.
I’m generally a pretty non-active person so I can get away with it.
Story of my first time using a tampon
So I do theatre in school and my first middle school show was les mis.
Dress rehearsal day one comes along and BAM I got my period. I was so focused in acting ...... reply
Another option is a silicone cup. I can’t use a tampon, because I feel like I’m sitting on a stick, and a pad feels so unclean. While a cup is still something you put inside you, I find it much more comfortable. But you have less garbage to throw away, saves money as it’s reusable, and I can tell you is so comfortable I forget about it and ma...... reply
I will only ever use pads even if it's uncomfortable. Tampons cost more and I'm not gonna stick my finger up just to get it out if the string breaks, plus I have a heavy irregular flow. I'm also not gonna wear those underwear that absorbs blood or use those cups. If I'm done with pads I'll just go with pills. reply
