What makes a story “well written”?
What actually makes a story “well written” to you? I’ll read something that’s objectively kinda messy, but something about it still allures me and I rate it high, even when other people write it off as bad. So what’s your bar for well written? And if a story isn’t well written, why does it still pull you in anyway?
There's a buddhist saying "the finger pointing at the moon is not the moon". Maybe that's what a well written story does: it never gives you the whole truth, only enough to make you look for it.
