What makes a story “well written”?
What actually makes a story “well written” to you? I’ll read something that’s objectively kinda messy, but something about it still allures me and I rate it high, even when other people write it off as bad. So what’s your bar for well written? And if a story isn’t well written, why does it still pull you in anyway?
writing is just the vehicle for ideas, so while the ideas are important for substance, personal interest and enjoyment, in the end, identifying something as "well-written" is based on the execution of the narrative. something could have great ideas even to the point of memorability and still be poorly written, lacking in execution.
