What are your guilty pleasure tropes and why?
I’m a sucker for hate-to-love/enemies-to-lovers. I’m guessing it’s because my mother really dislikes me and made sure I knew this even as a kid, so that trope feels healing to my inner child. I also like OP protagonists, who still appeal to me despite (or because?) being a recovered perfectionist lol lastly I’m often drawn to stories with pining, yearning, and/or regret…. I’m still unpacking why I like that trope so much.
Curious to hear what cheesy tropes other readers enjoy and why!!
1. Lazy mc that hides their power/identity to live a normal life
2. This sounds so bad but when mc dies after being treated poorly (like 10 years I loved you)
3. When the author randomly adds a love rival for drama
4. Characters crashing out after extreme stress or trauma
5. Yandere characters 1 reply
