Cheating is bad but people treat it as some crime
I just don't think cheating is bad enough for people to genuinely think that shit should be illegal. I remember seeing a video were a woman had a man deported for cheating aka putting his life in danger and every was saying how she ate...like yes cheating is horrible and it will hurt a person deeply but also idk I feel like especially social media there's a overwhelming panic over it. Idk how to really explain this
the "late to a gloriouskingkabru post" experience:
the original post could have been optimized for clarity, but i get it if you were just kind of thinking out loud, and organizing your own thoughts. perhaps the big sticking points seem to be the words "crime" and "illegal", because not everyone has learned about how they're concepts that are cons...... 3 reply
Technically, with concepts like at fault divorce, with legal repercussions of adultery, it is illegal. And also, it is not wise to decide just based on personal feelings. Though, yes, it may be inhumane to sabotage someone's livelihood, to blanket-wise disregard it's interpersonal criminality, is not a good thing. 1 reply
i can see why someone would what to criminalize cheating, if you sleep around you risk catching something and giving it to your partner which is messed up. but deporting is a bit far 1 reply
no fr, cheating is wrong, but people act like it makes you deserving of the worst shit imaginable like you can hold somebody accountable without trying to ruin their whole life. social media got people so caught up in wanting cheaters to suffer that they don’t even care if the punishment fits the crime anymore. at some point it stops being about ...... reply
Adultery isn't a crime where I'm from, so I was surprised to hear it could be a felony in some states. That sounds excessive to me, considering criminalization often does very little to dissuade people from doing something. Though I'm not exactly a fan of divorce laws where I'm at either. Adultery is basically just a fast lane for divorce and can't...... 1 reply
Cheating in general no it shouldn't be illegal, but I think there should be some kind of repercussion that should be faced if an individual cheats on their partner and ends up spreading a disease to their partner as a result. Like...u should be able to sue for that at least, I think.
Deporting that guy for cheating on her was 110% justified tho l...... reply
Infidelity is actually a crime kid. What do you mean it is not a crime?
HERE'S THE THING:
1. Adultery (By a Wife) — Article 333, Revised Penal Code
• Definition: Committed by a married woman who has sexual intercourse with a man not her husband, and the man who knowingly participates.
• Requirements:
• Proof of actual sexual intercour...... 2 reply
I do agree with you to be honest, bc wym you're willing to literally risk someones safety for that? I get that they cheated and hurt their partner but that's just genuinely evil, like if he had family members who were also undocumented, they would also be put at risk bc of her stunt... 2 reply
wait why are people not agreeing this is literally so valid. I remember seeing that post about the bf getting deported and finding that genuinely so insane. Like its bad, but there's a spectrum of morally wrong things one can do, and I fear deporting someone falls further on that spectrum than cheating... 3 reply
