i made a topic like this, but i got into an argument with some kid about why its "okay to read yaoi at age 10" so here it goes.

even if youre 10, 11 or 12 and think you have the maturity to look at this stuff, u dont.

yall in MIDDLE SCHOOL. youre young and impressionable. most of these kids havent even been educated on proper sex ed, and they look at this and think these depictions of gay sex are REAL.

they think this is how consent works, or this is how a relationship should work. fine, watch porn, but dear god dont look at yaoi as real depictions of gay sex, or just sex in general.

these kids are the same type of kids that would walk up to a gay man and asks if hes the uke. istg. theyre the type to proudly call themselves fujoshis (in the context of being obsessed with gay men and gay sex, not just liking bl. no one likes that nickname anyways lol)

i didnt discover yaoi till my late freshman year old highschool, and even then, i was shocked to learn it exists. and there are 5th grades enthusing about how horny it makes them?????? stop it fr.

i mean if you want to read bl so bad, at least read healthy depictions of it. at that point, its just romance between two guys. but looking at junjou romantica and thinking thats how gay relationships work.............

I’m seeing a lot of young transmascs on here so here’s some tips that might help:

If you don’t have a binder DO NOT USE ACE BANDAGES. They aren’t good for you and can f/ck w your top surgery.

If you want to make a DIY binder you can use either sports bras or tank tops

If you are using sports bras you want flip them around and layer them on top of eachother

When you are putting them on you want to push your bre/sts up and towards your arm/to the side to flatten them. Don’t push them down.

If you are using tank tops; same thing; layer them on top of each other and push your bre/sts up and towards your arm/to the side to flatten them.

If you start feeling like you can’t breathe, take it off. Don’t wear it for more then 8 hours. Don’t wear it while exercising

Before I start of on this, I just wanna say; this is just my opinion in what I’ve seen so far. I don’t think this applies to every manga, I just see those tropes a lot. I might be totally wrong about this so don’t kill me.


Anyways,

I feel like in manga most characters are carbon copies of each other with like different hair colors. And I mean it’s fine to have a similar art style for your characters but I feel like it’s the same exact body type every time and it follows the same exact character design troupes

Like have y’all ever noticed that like every character in manga is extremely pale and when there is one darker skinned character they are typically the aggressive one (in a relationship) or seen by everyone else as intimidating and are always the seme/top and idk i might be over sensitive but that kinda rubs me the wrong way

And men in manga are seemingly either unrealistically buff (despite never going to the gym ever or doing anything to maintain their body type) or built like an f-cking actual twig
(and look extremely feminine, which I’m not saying is a bad thing btw) [and typically the twig and feminine character design only applies to bottoms (which feels very heteronormative)].

And when there is an overweight character, they are either constantly made fun of or a creepy old p/rvert.

Oh and this has been talked about a million times but in straight sm/t the bland “short black hair, average looking protagonist that treats women like objects and gets women who look like supermodels to fight over him” troupe is incredibly over used. Like I get that it’s nice to have a self insert for the (predominately male) audience, but could you maybe be even a little bit more original or at least give him a decent personality???

Oh and women are either incredibly thin or have giant bo/bs and a tiny waist. So like absolutely no realistic proportions.

I just feel like manga characters have virtually no diversity.

When’s the last time you saw an overweight character, or a woman with really short hair, or a character with piercings, or a young adult male character with facial hair, or a ftm trans character? I mean I know this doesn’t apply to every manga but it’s kinda frustrating because artists have so much to work with but churn out almost Identical unmemorable character designs

So like uhm when I was like 5 or 6 I had to always go to this daycare. The lady who owned the daycare had a bunch of daughters. One day, one of the daughters who were like 10 came to me and asked me if I knew what sex was (I'm a female btw) and I said "NO" ofc cause I was like 5 I didn't know was. So then she told me to follow her out of now where and I did. Idk what happened but we started making out. And she took off my pants and started touching me. Well now I'm 15, I have depression, Suicidal thoughts, and drumroll please....
