It deadass follows similar plot points to like every average bl bruh. Older mc bottom has an interaction with younger top and cares for him. Young top grows older to be low-key evil old mc still likes and cares for him young top slowly opens up and then they eventually fuck and then whatever trashy plot points like jealousy slowly gets them together happily ever after the end.
We can't all like the same things or feel the same way. Interpretation by the reader is what makes a story , in part interesting. I haven't slated or dogged on Passion. I haven't said it was terrible or a bad story. I have quite enjoyed it in fact, but in this story, I find Yuri's character more interesting. Mainly because the way he has been written is divisive. You are welcome not to agree with that. If you feel this story is average, that is your rightful opinion. If you like this story more, that is also your rightful opinion.
Given they sit in the same universe it is actually ok to talk about them both, without becoming upset over it!
We all know the majority of bl follows a well trodden formula, as that's what is popular.
So calm yaselves. Respectfully.
You’re reducing their entire relationship to a generic BL checklist. If you strip away all the actual context and just list vague things like “older bottom,” “younger top,” “jealousy,” and “they eventually get together,” then obviously you can make almost any BL sound the same. But none of those points actually describe what makes Xinlu and Yuri’s relationship unique. Their actual plot and character dynamics are nothing like what you described. If you describe every story like that, they’re all going to sound the same, but what actually makes them different is XinYuri’s unusual dynamic. And more importantly, Yuri’s character alone makes this story fundamentally different from the generic plot you just reduced it to. Then give me some titles that are actually similar to them. I’ve been looking everywhere and still haven’t found anything that really feels like XinYuri. I'm genuinely craving xinyuri right now.
You never denied that I was correct the story does follow many similar plot points to stories like amber alert and others I've seen I usually skip stories with plot points like this so I can't list much but it definitely follows these stories but raga is better written than these stories and is unique in the ways that it writes it all I'm saying is it gives generic because it because you rarely see stories that have similar plot points to Passion say but also because of how old it is
So we're just forgetting than Yuri was raped in this same story and xinlu would've raped tay of he had the chance bitch please we're not here to play the morality game. Passion is supposed to be a darker story that tackles many plot points and character dynamics and development if all you could see in PASSION is the toxic and violent traits and not the great writing that makes many people love the story then I don't want to argue with your bitch ass. What happened to sharing opinions. No need to play the morality game one of the main characters in this story you love so much is a murderer and rapist so let's calm down on that shall we
I don't think I was very aggressive other than describing Ilay, but I apologize for the offense, and thanks for the reminder, I will keep my manners in check. And, like you, I was also trying to share my opinion of what I thought from reading your response.
I have never tried defending Xinlu (in my older posts on this manhwa I even diss him), he's a POS and deserves to be in prison (hate him for treating Yuri like shit and we both seem to agree on that and I could definitely rant on him SO much more)
In my opinion, Yuri's entire character is nuanced and is a very unique character in BL. He's not very expressive, has little desires and he's not cold hearted/non chalant. There's more to his character than there is to most bl bottoms (usually able to be summed up in a single phrase) we see that makes him a breath of fresh air.
PASSION might tackle a darker side of love (despite both tops greatly hurting the bottoms, it is sage to say that Ilay has hurt tae more than Xinlu has hurt Yuri), but RAGA focuses more on the gentler side of love (Yuri's love for Xinlu is love in one of the most tender, soft, and resilient in ways I could think of love as) and those differences make them unable to be compared to.
This gentle love is much more difficult to find in BL than the widely portrayed dark love, and that is why I said PASSION is, to me, more generic than RAGA.
(Im so,so sorry for this long ass essay read it if you want, don't if you want I just like to yap if anything, read paragraph 3 or 4)

I absolutely love this one. More so than Passion. Both characters have far more complexities and nuances making them really interesting.
Illay and Taeui were good, but at times so predictable it kinda wrote itself.
The way Yuri sees the world and those around him constantly throws me.
