I support scanlation sites wholeheartedly but a line is crossed when there are people out here SELLING other peoples manhwas and there is nothing abt it being done.
I encourage everyone to go report the site Desirescans.com to either googles legal help site or the actual manhwas original site (ie lezhin and any others).
It does come to question that most of these companies that originally publish the manhwas are extremely evil to their artists but think abt it this is the bare minimum that we can do for our manhwa artists.
I hate to take this route but u have to think about it. There are people (not only desirescans according to what some others have told me) actually profiting, like getting real money, from using AI to translate manhwa chapters and then locking them behind a paywall.
This is beyond unfair to the artist and just despicable imo. I highly encourage everyone to go report desirescans.com and any other site alike that also profits off of scanlation.

As an Asian, I don't think it's automatically racist to point out that racism and ignorance are real issues in Korea. That's something plenty of Koreans and other Asians acknowledge themselves. I read that part of the post less as "every Korean is racist" and more as "this kind of storyline unfortunately doesn't surprise me given the social attitudes that still exist."

I don’t think they meant to generalize Koreans as a whole but rather were referring to the ongoing racism in the manhwa community & how most Korean authors tend to be are ignorant when it comes to things like racism. (Plus they aren’t really wrong about this specific author, she’s been making snarky remarks on twitter to excuse her recent work.)

Coming on here to point out that you actively reading manhwas that trigger you is a form of self harm. Continuing to do it even after noticing that you get triggered (ie having an extreme emotional reaction to it like anger, sadness etc. (but also not unheard of, you can still have a sympathetic reaction without this necessarily being abt you)) is also a possible sign of addiction to that self harm. Also paired with getting that dopamine from it, it's even more damaging.
People throw this saying around as haha jokes but it genuinely is exactly what it means. Go outside and touch grass. Reading rape manhwa upon rape manhwa gets to a point and by doing it you're actively destroying ur minds and nervous systems. It's normal to consume media like that but not at the rate a lot of really young people are currently and especially without any safety precautions or knowledge on what they're even reading.
This may seem dumb to many but it's inevitably true. Seek help by just talking abt stuff to a support system or by just simply taking a break and reading something wholesome. It'll seem boring, but honestly thats exactly what your brain needs especially after all that quick dopamine and self harm.
Edit: if you are a healthy functioning adult this doesn't refer to you (it can but thats not the point im trying to make) you are fully allowed to read whatever you want but hopefully in a way you're able to distinct fiction from reality. Is it just me or are chapters getting shorter and shorter?? They take sm time to release only for the chapters to be so short ive read them in 2 minutes.
I understand this is yet again another industry where artists get overworked and this is in no way bashing them, but I've just noticed this continuous trend with almost every bl I read. It takes over a week to update and then its extremely short. Like so much can be told in one chapter but every chapter I read is just one scene and everytime it changes the chapter reads to to be continued. :/
