The otaku with messy bangs and thick glasses, the popular ml with pretty much the same design with slightly different hair, the women always have the same three designs in bl (ESPECIALLY the lesbian sister/best friend), the short black haired feminine generic manhwa bottom, I could go on.
I don't get the hate. Basically they were just saying they like the look of a dude getting fucked which I mean, anyone who looks at bl does pretty much does, but they're getting hate for taking that slightly further. People empathize with characters too often. Like why are you writing a paragraph defending a character who's sad backstory is literally only there to justify their shitty personality? It doesn't add depth to a character, it just makes you pity them enough to think they're likable because the author can't write actually likeable or interesting chara......
The beginning was interesting but at a certain point it just felt like the author forgot about how it started and basically started writing a different story. Most of the plot points they set up early on were just abandoned, the psychological twinge it had in the beginning left, the mc's backstory and driving motivation just was forgotten, they basically threw out the whore mc premise, side characters just stopped playing a major part until the end, and most crucially, the mc and ml were basically different characters at the end. Not because of character development, but because their personalities changed.
